Director of Revenue Management, Full Time
Rate of Pay: $120,000-$140,000 Annually

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Director of Revenue Management to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for overall development and daily maintenance of optimal pricing and channel distribution strategy that positions Hotel to meet or exceed financial goals.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

• Providing services that are above and beyond for guest satisfaction and retention.
• Utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
• Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
•As a salaried manager, adjusting your schedule to support operational needs of the business. This includes adjusting availability to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Responsible for meeting or exceeding revenue goals for assigned property.
• Reviews and analyzes daily/weekly/monthly reports to monitor progress toward established targets and makes recommendations on how to maximize results.
• Responsible for designing and implementing an effective transient sales strategy.
• Analyzes short and long term forecasting; constantly works to improve demand forecast accuracy.
• Conducts effective, action-based weekly Revenue Management meetings; prepares and distributes all Revenue Management reports to key personnel.
• Ensures compliance of brand standards for Revenue Management, including property-level brand RM certification requirements and mastery of brand RM systems.
• Evaluates all group opportunities; makes group price & inventory recommendations; completes group displacement analysis; monitors cutoff dates and group wash.
• Oversight of in-house Reservations department, including proper scheduling to meet business demands and development of staff to assist in RM functions in the absence of Director of Revenue Management.
• Develops optimal system of rate & inventory management for wholesale segment; improves ARI management of wholesale through systems connectivity and dynamic pricing models.
• Analyzes weekly/monthly STR reports for trends; constantly monitors competition for shifts in demand, rate and strategy and exploits all opportunity to gain market share; demonstrates local market expertise and knowledge of all current and emerging demand generators.
• Creates & produces detailed reports that summarize key performance indicators.
• Develops proactive action plans to address future need periods and short-term distressed inventory.
• Works closely with corporate marketing team on promotional strategy and merchandising of rates, packages and promotions on brand and vanity websites.
• Fosters a culture of Revenue Management throughout all departments of hotel; trains and develops other team members on revenue management skills.
• Assists/ Supports VP of Revenue, Regional Directors & Property management teams in all areas of revenue management.
•Communicates regularly with Corporate Director of Revenue and VP of Revenue.
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related assignments as directed by management.
• Promote safe work practices.
• Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications:

Knowledge/Education/Experience: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications. Minimum five (5) years of revenue management experience in a hotel required. Availability to adjust your schedule to support operational needs of the business, including adjusting availability to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Prior Marriott and Hawaii market experience preferred. College graduate or equivalent hospitality experience. Experience in a union environment is preferred but not required.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: English speaking or bilingual. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Exceptional work ethic, ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong presence and ability to interact with Senior Leadership. Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
