Rev Io information

How does a Rev Io Specialist typically collaborate with sales and customer success teams to optimize recurring revenue streams?

As a Rev Io Specialist, you will frequently work closely with both sales and customer success teams to ensure accurate billing, seamless onboarding, and optimal management of recurring revenue processes. This collaboration involves addressing customer inquiries, resolving billing discrepancies, and implementing process improvements based on feedback from these cross-functional partners. A key challenge is balancing the technical aspects of revenue operations with the need to provide a positive customer experience, often requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role offers opportunities for advancement into revenue operations leadership or specialized roles in SaaS billing and financial operations.

What is a Rev Io and what do they do?

Rev.io is a company that provides billing, customer management, and payment solutions, primarily for communications and technology service providers. Their platform automates complex billing processes, streamlines workflow, and helps businesses manage customers and revenue more efficiently. Rev.io's solutions are designed to scale with a business, offering features such as usage rating, subscription billing, and integrated payment processing. This allows companies to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and focus on growth.

Proficiency with CRM systems (like Salesforce), data visualization tools (such as Tableau), and spreadsheet software is typically required, and certifications in these platforms are advantageous. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset help analysts align sales, marketing, and customer success teams. These skills are crucial to optimize revenue processes, drive growth, and ensure organizational alignment across departments.

Job description

Intro:
Sequence is the AI-native billing and quote to cash platform for modern B2B teams, including Bridge (Stripe), incident.io and Cognition (Devin). Founded by serial entrepreneurs and backed by a16z, 645 Ventures and Salesforce Ventures with a recently completed Series A round, we're now looking for our first Head of Finance / Expert in Residence.
This is a truly unique role for a swiss army knife Finance operator. You will not just be our internal Finance leader, but a subject matter expert for our product & engineering teams, especially our revenue recognition squad. Given we sell to finance teams, you will also have an unparalleled opportunity to represent Sequence with your peers at events, customer / prospect calls and onsite presentations. In short, you will drive material value across Finance, Product & GTM. As noted, not a typical HoF position :)
This role will report directly to the Co-Founder / COO, and will initially be supported by our fractional, outsourced UK and US accounting teams.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (CPA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
    • Litmus test: are you able to close books autonomously if needed?
  • 4+ years experience in fast-growing B2B SaaS / AI scaleups
    • Litmus test: have you experienced a hypergrowth journey before?
  • Able to work across London / NYC time zones (essential for supporting our product teams as inhouse finance expert)
  • Proven track record of success for 2+ years in prior roles (we want someone who will stick around and play a central role in our growth journey for 3-4+ years and will offer equity accordingly)
  • [Bonus] Capable of building FP&A model and preparing quarterly board updates
  • [Bonus] Experience scaling from Series A to C+, comfortable in fast-paced environments
  • [Bonus] Hands-on experience using comparable finance products (Maxio, Chargebee, Zuora, Stripe Billing)
  • [Bonus] In-person in NYC or London (not required)

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing month end close / reconciliation with our fractional teams
  • Owning revenue recognition policy and audit readiness
  • Hiring and bringing accounting fully inhouse
  • Playing central role in product feedback and prioritization for our ASC 606 / IFRS 15 rev rec and billing modules
  • Owning quarterly finance board pack
  • Managing liquidity balances across bank accounts
  • Establishing more robust and scalable processes & procedures across our finance stack:
    • QBO (US ERP)
    • Xero (UK ERP)
    • Sequence (Accounts Receivable & Quote to Cash)
    • Ramp (Accounts Payable)
    • Gusto (US Payroll)
    • Payfit (UK Payroll)

If interested, email enda@sequencehq.com with your resume and a quick note on why you think there's a good fit.
