Retirement Plan Consultant
Full-Time, Springfield, Boston
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Retirement Plan Consultant to join our team. Where your ability to be agile, personal accountability and comfort in a mostly autonomous role will be key to your success. You'll be the face of Workplace Retirement Solutions, cultivating personal relationships, collaborating with and supporting the General Agents and Advisors on a day-to-day basis. You will also work with key internal partners to help identify, create and implement the products, services and capabilities required for our General Agents and Advisors to succeed in the group retirement plan market.
The Team
MMLIS Workplace Retirement Solutions (WRS) is a dedicated team of Retirement Plan Consultants who provide MassMutual Financial Professionals customized sales strategies to effectively win new business and implement a superior service model to retain valued retirement plan clients. Each member of the team is highly skilled at working in an autonomous environment. Team members are selfless with their time and routinely rely on each other for guidance, backup and support.
The Impact:
As a Retirement Plan Consultant, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
  • Provide value to General Agents and Advisors through day-to-day contact via a team inbox and team sales desk phone number - receiving inquiries, sales support needs and creating a strategy to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Proactively research, analyze, and respond to General Agent and Advisor inquiries, timely and accurately on more complex problems or inquiries.
  • Manage expectations regarding requests for Plan Reports, that include but are not limited to - fee benchmarking reports and plan investment reviews.
  • Utilize digital and cutting-edge technology platforms to assist General Agents and Advisors with practice management support, identify and implement best practices to drive group retirement plan retention and overall growth.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of retirement plan recordkeeping products and services.
  • Promote and facilitate educational/sales calls to promote sales ideas and best practices related to group retirement.

The Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of retirement plan experience
  • 2+ years of experience with 401(k), Profit Sharing, or Pooled Employer Plan and Multiple Employer plan design
  • 2+ years of experience with Defined Benefit Plans
  • 2+ years of experience with Cash Balance Plans
  • 1+ years of experience working with field partners (career agents, financial advisors, RIAs, BDs or general agencies)
  • FINRA series 6 and series 63 license at time of application
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree or HS Diploma with 8+ years of retirement plan experience

  • Pro-active, self-starter with ability to organize, prioritize and execute various projects across multiple functional areas simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range:
$104,900-$137,700
