What to Expect
As a Commercial Operations Intern, you will work closely with the Commercial Operations Manager - Americas, and Commercial Operations Analyst - Americas, as well as collaborating with various departments including Sales Operations, Pricing, Finance, Logistics, and more. This role is based in New York, and offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the dynamic world of automotive sales operations.
This role underpins a crucial element of the Commercial Operations function, supporting heavily in regional Sales Operations. You will directly contribute to the achievement of regional order, wholesale and retail targets through operational support to the Commercial Operations and Sales team. You will lead in communications with the Central Sales Operations team, acting as the main point of contact for all operational support. You will help ensure the seamless execution of our commercial initiatives and contribute to the overall success of McLaren Automotive in the Americas region.
What You'll Do
Sales Operations Support:
  • Support Commercial Operations Manager and Commercial Operations Analyst in the fulfilment of the regional sales planning processes through daily operational support.
  • Work directly with the Regional Sales team and Central Sales Operations team, acting as the point person for all operational questions, ensuring orders, wholesales and retails are fulfilled.
  • Support Commercial Operations Analyst in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance reports to keep the wider Sales team updated on performance to core business targets.

SAP Operational Use:
ยง Regional Sales Operations SAP lead, supporting Finance, Sales team and Central Commercial Operations in SAP related queries and tasks, including but not limited to, dealer swapping, invoice support, pricing queries.
Weekly Forecast Reporting:
ยง Support Commercial Operations Manager in providing weekly forecast submissions to UK team via WIRE.
Variable Bonus Reporting:
ยง Support Commercial Operations Manager and Vice President of Sales in quarterly variable bonus reporting.
Inventory & Vessel Reporting:
ยง Support Commercial Operations Analyst in the management of vessel and unit tracking, providing key updates to the Finance and Sales team on the status of all units until point of arrival at dealer.
Sales Match Back Reporting
  • Support Commercial Operations Analyst in the process of sales match back reporting, working with the Marketing & Sales team on the input and output of accurate data.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reporting to the wider Regional team, as well as supporting with exec submissions showcasing results from brand led activations.

Data Management:
ยง Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools to manage and interpret data for various sales operations activities.
Continuous Improvement:
ยง Support Commercial Operations Manager in the ongoing process of continuous improvement of all systems and processes within the Americas region, finding and creating greater efficiencies across all business areas.
