Business Development is responsible for increasing the company’s market position, which will ultimately increase company revenue by generating new business prospects outside of our already established program work and clientele. This is accomplished by implementing effective marketing strategies that locate, develop, define and establish new business relationships; residential, commercial and government. The position may require working after hours/on-call beyond your normal workday. This may mean nights, weekends and/or holidays including occasional overnight travel.

Highly qualified candidates will have proven experience identifying target market segments, keeping abreast of industry trends and building new business relationships that increase company profitability. In addition, highly qualified candidates will have a successful track record marketing to insurance agents and adjusters, property management companies, hospitals, schools and/or government agencies. Experience and knowledge of the water, fire, smoke and natural disaster residential and commercial restoration industry is a plus. 

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Professionally represent Carolina Restoration Services’ Purpose and Core Values in order to establish and maintain business relationships with current and future clients 
  • Identify/network new business opportunities which may include other branch locations in our region
  • Establish regional accounts with insurance agent, adjusters and brokers, risk managers, facility managers, property managers, etc. 
  • Generate approximately $1.0 - $3.0 million annually
  • Actively market and screen potential new business partnerships
  • Work collaboratively with the entire business development department to promote positive brand recognition, company reputation, customer satisfaction, and sales growth 
  • Continually develop a stronger knowledge of the restoration industry and Carolina Restoration Services’ and ATI services by visiting our job sites, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations and attending company meetings and events 
  • Being well versed in social media marketing (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Familiar with Customer-Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Actively participate and network in local industry groups, associations and community outreach programs
  • Attend marketing events and networking events as needed including tradeshows, golf tournaments, social events, luncheons, and other marketing functions
  • Sell and network at tradeshow events and conferences
  • Develop marketing campaigns to generate traffic while working within set budgets
  • Maintain a high level of customer service
  • Identify and resolve client concerns in order to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Perform follow ups with existing accounts and/or active clients
  • Provide quantitative data to management to support business development activities, events and achievements

 

Physical Demands:

Medium Work - Ability to walk, bend, crouch, sit or stand for up to 6 hours in an 8-hour workday. Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body and may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

  • Fingering – Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand as in handling. 
  • Repetitive Motion – Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Talking – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to others accurately and quickly when necessary.  
  • Hearing – Receiving detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Listening – Understanding information and ideas received through spoken and written words
  • Vision – Close visual acuity to perform activities such as; preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer monitor, extensive reading without or without correction.

 

 

Work environment:

Work is performed at various work locations, such as within an office environment and other professional settings where business meetings, training and networking events are held, which may be either indoors or outdoors without substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions, but on occasion it may be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting, and subject to:

  • Weather and temperature changes
  • Work environments that are not climate controlled
  • Substantial drive time
  • Crowds
  • Noise

 

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ business development, marketing and sales experience 
  • Proven record of successfully marketing in the insurance restoration industry, multi-family, commercial or property management service industries 
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably and confidently interact and network with others and in crowds
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM a plus
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent time management skills. Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including after-hours, weekends and occasional overnight travel 
  • Willingness and ability to do a significant amount of local travel
