We are seeking a driven, results‑oriented Business Development Leader to expand our footprint in the Life Sciences sector in and around North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park (RTP) focusing on selling system integration services. This is a role for a dynamic sales professional with industry relationships, ability to prospect to develop new leads and a relentless drive for new business.

Job Type: Full‑Time | Location: Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina. | Salary: Competitive base salary + commission

Key Responsibilities & Requirements
  • Prospector and Opportunity Seeker: Identify, prospect, and engage new Life Sciences clients (pharma, biotech, med device) using industry networks, LinkedIn, partners, and databases. Expectation of 70% in‑person client or onsite engagement prospecting in the RTP area.
  • Network Leverage: Use your established relationships to connect with decision‑makers in engineering, maintenance, operations, automation, and IT/OT.
  • Consultative Selling: Understand client challenges and position Avid’s offerings – automation, process control, MES, data analytics, networking and Operational Technology (OT), as essential enablers of operational success.
  • Strategic Account Growth: Build long‑term client partnerships through solutions which align with business and regulated‑industry priorities.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration: Partner with Avid operations including engineering, project, and delivery teams to ensure smooth project execution and a unified client experience.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably selling IT/OT/Automation solutions in the RTP Life Sciences space; candidates with experience selling other relevant Life Sciences products and services will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of FDA‑regulated environments including GMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience and active network within the RTP area with an established network of industry contacts.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets through proactive new client acquisition.
  • Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. Hungry, motivated, accountable, meticulous, and capable of driving business without consistent oversight.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced agile work environment which requires proactiveness and effective communication.
  • Confident navigating technical conversations, quick learner of production processes, and comfortable walking a plant floor to identify opportunities.
  • Membership in ISPE‑CaSA or similar professional associations strongly preferred
