Description
Burn & McDonnell is seeking an Environmental Engineering Project Manager for its Mid-Atlantic Region. This position will support a variety of professional services and construction projects dynamically and profitably based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service.
The Environmental Engineering PM will undertake projects such as general site civil engineering, stormwater management, stream restoration, wetland restoration, solid waste facilities (MSW, industrial, and CCR), coastal restoration, environmental remediation, coal combustion residuals, manufactured gas plants, mine reclamation and permitting, constructed wetland treatment systems, industrial water treatment, and multi-discipline capital projects involving facility development and expansions. Project types span planning studies, design-bid-build, and design-build.
  • Provide project management; managing accuracy, budgets, quality, safety, reporting, schedule, and client expectations.
  • Act as a technical resource for environmental/civil engineering projects.
  • Lead multi-discipline engineering design teams for environmental/civil-related projects.
  • Client business development and networking.
  • Execute proposal and cost estimating efforts for environmental/civil engineering projects.
  • Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.
  • Enforce compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited program preferred.
  • Experience executing and selling civil/environmental design-build projects.
  • Minimum 7 years of related professional experience (10 years preferred).
  • Strong commitments to safety, quality and attention to detail are a must.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions and develop solutions under challenging conditions and circumstances.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present technical information.
  • Knowledge of industry safety and environmental regulations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team framework.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required for this position.
  • Experience managing coal combustion residual (CCR) projects, including Facility Evaluation Reports, civil closure designs, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience in the design and management of mine reclamation, stream restoration, etc., projects is a plus.
  • Experience managing environmental multi-disciplinary Design Build projects is a plus.
  • Experience working with international resources preferred.
  • Experience working with automating design practices is preferred.
