The Role

We are seeking a creative thought leader with a point of view on high end design and the ability to collaborate with our founder, Sam Fox, to bring his visions to life. As a Design Project Manager, you will continually drive the vision of our concepts while successfully directing projects from ideation to completion. In this role, you are responsible for every phase of restaurant development which includes conducting conceptual exploration, establishing direction and design schedules, budgets, as well as programming and schematic design through construction. Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is required, as is a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Join a hospitality group that is known in our industry as an incubator for cutting edge concepts and visionary designs. This is an on-site position based out of our Phoenix, AZ office.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a cross-functional point of contact for restaurant design and architecture standards as well as facilitate flow of design communication and controls
  • Contribute to design project/program strategies and target objectives based on project goals and requirements
  • Conduct initial test fits and space plans using AutoCAD
  • Create design presentations using Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, and Enscape
  • Coordinate with outside architecture and design consultants to communicate design intent
  • Create and manage design schedules in MSProject
  • Create full construction documents for interiors, including millwork details.
  • Responsible for interior and exterior signage coordination
  • Responsible for managing the permit submittal and approval process.
  • Specify FFE items and coordinate outside designer’s specifications
  • Review design materials and FFE for budget and lead time
  • Review consultant drawings for correctness and FRC standards and preferences
  • Work with construction to make sure there is no overlap in GC provided/Owner provided items
  • Build and maintain design consultant budgets
  • Design CA including reviewing and managing responses to RFIs, submittals and shop drawings.
  • Conduct site visits for the purpose of attending installs and construction progress meetings
  • Maintain and periodically review and recommend changes to design standards, guidelines, and procedures
  • Review processes and best practices and make recommendations for enhancements, improvements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • 5+ years of design experience in a luxury hospitality, restaurant, or hotel environment
  • Must have experience in all phases of the project from schedules, budgets, programming and schematic design through construction documentation and administration.
  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, and Enscape.
  • Knowledge of project management software
  • NCIDQ and LEED accreditation preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of general restaurant related equipment and standard practices
  • Strong understanding of industry standard building codes including ADAAG, IBC, NFPA, etc.
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices a plus
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining specifications
  • Working knowledge of lighting
  • Working knowledge of drapery
