Job description

Description:

About Anani Restaurant Group

Anani Restaurant Group was founded by award-winning Detroit chef Omar Anani, owner of Saffron De Twah, a nationally recognized restaurant known for its vibrant, globally inspired cuisine. Chef Anani is a James Beard Award finalist whose work has helped shape Detroit’s modern food scene.

As the restaurant group continues to grow, new concepts are being developed to expand this vision of culture, hospitality, and community. Anani Restaurant Group is excited to announce Nomad Rotisserie, the newest concept to join the restaurant portfolio, and this role will play a vital part in supporting its launch and ongoing success.

Working with Anani Restaurant Group is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences that bring people together over a shared meal while building something meaningful.

Position Summary

As the Cashier/Server, you are the heartbeat of Nomad Rotisserie. You aren’t just taking orders; you are controlling the energy, the pace, and the overall guest experience. You are the “conductor” of the restaurant – balancing the flow of tickets with high-energy hospitality.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves connecting with people, and has a natural "sales-minded" hustle. You will be the primary link between our kitchen and our guests, ensuring every person who walks through our doors feels the vibrant culture of Nomad Rotisserie.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a fast, friendly, and confident ordering experience by guiding guests through the menu with personality, product knowledge, and thoughtful recommendations.
  • Accurately manage the POS system, process payments, and coordinate a smooth pickup flow for both in-house and call-ahead orders.
  • Prepare beverages, assemble simple menu items, and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-house environment.
  • Create a welcoming and positive guest experience by actively engaging with customers and anticipating their needs.
  • Handle customer concerns or complaints with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain composure in high-pressure situations while upholding service standards and brand values.
  • Build rapport with guests to encourage repeat visits and foster a strong sense of community.

Cross-Training Responsibilities

At Nomad, we believe in a one team philosophy. While your primary home will be supporting the front of house, you will have the exciting opportunity to be trained to jump into the kitchen to support the back-of-house as needed. As a cross-trained team member you will help:

  • Prepare signature wraps and sandwiches according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Plate bowls with speed, accuracy, and attention to presentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of sides and other components to keep the kitchen running efficiently.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant or customer service environment (quick service or high volume strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume service periods, without compromising customer service.
  • Experience with upselling or sales performance is a strong asset.
  • Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player with clear communication skills in a fast-moving restaurant environment.
  • Reliable transportation required to ensure consistent, on-time arrival for scheduled shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, high-energy restaurant setting with frequent peak periods.
  • Prolonged standing and walking (up to 8+ hours per shift).
  • Frequent use of hands for POS systems, food handling, and cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to approximately 25 lbs (e.g., supplies, trays).
  • Exposure to varying temperatures (front counter, kitchen pass, entrance areas).
  • Moderate to high noise levels during busy service times.
