Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial concepts, corporate accounting, and payroll systems. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform data entry for payroll transactions, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
  • Utilize financial software and accounting software to process payroll and maintain employee records.
  • Conduct general ledger reconciliation to ensure payroll expenses are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
  • Oversee accounts payable related to payroll functions, including deductions and benefits administration.
  • Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies or issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee information is reflected in the payroll system.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience with large volume payroll
  • Proven experience in payroll management or a similar role within corporate accounting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial software; experience with Paychex Flex is preferred.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Familiarity with general ledger reconciliation processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
