Job description

HR Manager / HR Business Partner | Los Angeles

Weโ€™re partnering with a prominent national law firm seeking an experienced HR Manager for its Los Angeles office. This is an individual contributor HR Manager role with the scope and seniority of an HR Business Partner rather than direct people-management responsibilities. The position sits within a national HR team and partners closely with several business functions across the firm, including Information Technology. While the position is based in Los Angeles and provides an important West Coast HR presence, the scope is national rather than regionally focused.

The role has a particularly strong emphasis on employee relations and manager coaching, along with performance management, talent development, organizational effectiveness, compensation, workforce planning, and broader HR initiatives.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who can operate independently, build credibility with senior stakeholders, and navigate sensitive employee matters with sound judgment and discretion.

Ideal background:

โ€ข 6โ€“8+ years of progressive HR experience

โ€ข Strong HRBP and employee relations expertise

โ€ข Experience advising managers and conducting workplace investigations

โ€ข Professional services or similarly complex organizational experience preferred

โ€ข Strong knowledge of employment practices and compliance

โ€ข Workday experience is highly valued

Compensation: $125Kโ€“$172K base

Location: Los Angeles

Status: Exempt

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and wants meaningful ownership without direct reports.
