Job Title: Temporary - Resource Coordinator
Reports To: Community Connections Resource Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Programs
Pay Rate: $20 / hour
Duration: June 30th, 2027
Please Note: This position is a temporary full-time role that is currently budgeted to last until June 30th, 2027. The position will be remote, excluding the initial training period and quarterly in-person All Staff Meetings.

Job Summary:
The Community Connections Resource Coordinator provides front-line support to individuals seeking assistance from the Food Bank. With compassion, empathy, and active listening, the Resource Coordinator connects those in need with food, benefit assistance, and additional resources remotely.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide incoming callers with the most current and accurate information for food assistance programs and other community resources
  • Refer clients to available resources by following specified written telephonic protocols
  • Listen, assess, and troubleshoot issues accessing food assistance programs as needed
  • Conduct over the phone screenings for various programs and submit applications when applicable
  • Highlight any resources beyond food to callers as required
  • Complete data collection procedures to maintain accurate neighbor records and ensure all information is up to date.
  • Adhere to all outlined protocols regarding security and confidentiality to protect personal client information
  • Provide excellent customer service on all phone calls
  • Communicate clearly and listen effectively to determine what programs and resources best meet the caller's needs
  • Support all Food Bank team members to guarantee success
  • Complete filing, mailing and clerical tasks as needed
  • Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required
  • Become knowledgeable about all programs at the Food Bank to provide accurate information to community members
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required
  • Have a minimum of two years of direct service experience in social or human service organizations.
  • Remain patient and composed when handling difficult or emotional callers, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Respond to crises calmly, solve problems effectively, and ensure attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Communicate information clearly and appropriately to diverse audiences.
  • Work collaboratively in a team setting and engage effectively with individuals from various backgrounds, experiences, and personalities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, showing initiative when needed.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while processing large amounts of information quickly.
  • Listen with empathy to neighbors facing challenging circumstances, offering the best support possible with compassion and understanding.
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Be proficient with technology (Microsoft Office and Salesforce).
  • Possess strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass FBI, Act 33 and Act 34 clearances.
