Description

The Human Resources Operations Manager supports the HR Director in leading and executing human resources initiatives within a fast-growing organization, with a primary focus on employee relations, leave management, workers' compensation, and ADA compliance. This role is responsible for administering and coordinating all aspects of employee leave programs, workplace accommodations, and workers' compensation claims while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. This role serves as a strategic and operational partner providing day-to-day HR support across multiple locations.  The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in employee relations, employment law compliance, leave administration (FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and state leave laws), performance management, and HR operations.


This position is highly collaborative and requires a proactive HR Professional who can balance tactical execution with strategic partnership. Incumbent will help foster a positive, inclusive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture while supporting employees and managers through all stages of the employee lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Partner with the HR Director to develop and execute HR strategies, workforce planning, organizational design, talent development, and retention initiatives that support organizational growth and evolving business needs.
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance, consistency, scalability, and operational excellence across all people processes, systems, records management, reporting, and documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, offboarding, new hire integration, promotions, transfers, status changes, and terminations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, corrective actions, investigations, and complex workplace issues while ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, parental leave, and state/local leave requirements, while maintaining accurate documentation, records, and reporting.
  • Partner with employees and managers through the interactive ADA accommodation process and provide guidance on leave administration and workplace accommodations.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, programs, and practices that align with company culture, business objectives, and employment law requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, providing guidance and training to managers on employee relations, accommodations, leave administration, and compliance best practices.
  • Facilitate employee benefits administration by serving as a liaison between employees and third-party administrators, assisting with enrollments, changes, employee education, and benefit-related inquiries.
  • Support payroll coordination and ensure accuracy of employee status changes, leave tracking, benefits deductions, and related HR transactions.
  • Analyze HR metrics and workforce data, including turnover, absenteeism, leave trends, and employee relations data, to identify trends, provide insights, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Drive employee engagement, recognition, culture-building, performance management, compensation review, career development, and learning and development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support change management, organizational restructuring, workforce growth, and employee retention efforts.
  • Promote workplace safety, return-to-work programs, injury prevention efforts, and a safe and positive work environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation, efficiency enhancements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive employee and organizational information.
  • Provide cross-functional HR support and contribute to special projects and initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience in an HR Generalist, HR Manager, People Operations, or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing, technology, or fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • FMLA
    • ADA accommodations and interactive process
    • Workers' compensation
    • Federal, state, and local employment laws
    • Employee relations best practices
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters and various types of leaves.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.).
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, plant, or multi-shift operations.
  • Experience with employee engagement initiatives.
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred. 
  • Experience with Paylocity.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing work duties.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.

Work Environment

  • Environment is a fast-paced, collaborative environment that requires communication, organization, and coordination across teams in the organization.
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment within a manufacturing facility. The role may require interaction with employees and supervisors on the production floor. Extended periods of sitting or computer work may be required.
