Job description


The Resident Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging life enrichment programs that support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well-being of residents. This role fosters a vibrant community by promoting participation in activities, events, and outings that enhance quality of life. The coordinator works collaboratively with residents, families, volunteers, and team members to ensure programs are meaningful, inclusive, and aligned with resident interests and abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and facilitating resident activities and programs
  • Develop and support a variety of recreational, educational, social, cultural, and wellness programs
  • Encourage resident participation and foster social connection and engagement
  • Assist with special events, outings, and community-wide celebrations
  • Set up, break down, and organize activity spaces, supplies, and equipment
  • Support one-on-one engagement for residents who prefer or require individualized activities
  • Gather feedback and help adjust programming to meet resident interests and needs

Communication & Coordination
  • Serve as a liaison between residents and internal departments
  • Communicate daily activity schedules, event reminders, and community updates
  • Maintain accurate calendars, attendance records, sign-up sheets, and participation logs
  • Collaborate with nursing, dining, and other departments to support resident engagement
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and team members

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in senior living, recreation therapy, activities, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience working with older adults in assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, or independent living strongly preferred
