As a Pillar Properties Resident Engagement Specialist, you make the difference between an apartment and a home!

The Resident Engagement Specialist is responsible for driving resident engagement to foster a sense of community at the property. This role serves as the first point of contact for residents to assist with individual and customized services throughout the resident experience and life cycle. Adherence to a customer service philosophy by providing excellent customer service to Team Members and residents is paramount. Delivering a Quietly Awesome experience at all levels and every encounter on a daily basis.

What You'll Do

  • Playing a critical role in resident event planning, social media presence, creating a unique living experience and ensuring that residents feel a connected sense of community with residents and team members
  • Managing monthly resident events and actively seeking unique events and experiences for residents, including working within the property budget, scheduling, purchasing, marketing, and executing the events
  • Develops a monthly social media calendar and creates content to ensure regular posts that are relevant to the resident experience and follows Pillar's social media strategy and the property's brand guidelines
  • Curates and posts the resident monthly newsletter
  • Carries out Pillar's commitment to supporting local businesses through partnership that also add value to the resident experience
  • If applicable, manage amenity reservations from confirmation to completion. This includes but is not limited to placing appropriate reservation signage, obtaining a guest list from the host, and reviewing the space before and after the reservation. Assist and ensure guests are properly escorted to the location of the reservation
  • Serve as the first point of contact via email, phone and in person, for resident inquiries, general conflict management, maintenance requests, reservation questions, renewal discussions or general community needs and ensures that the appropriate team member is looped in to ensure resolution for the property
  • Maintain a constant presence and availability in the leasing office to assist residents with reservations, recommendations, and deliveries
  • Assists with the renewal workflow and follow-up communications, including but not limited to warm calls, pre- negotiations, and discussing notice to vacate options
  • Tours the community with prospective residents and leases apartments as necessary
  • Leads renters insurance compliance by orchestrating regular audits and completing renewal lease files
  • Accepts vendor deliveries and notifies residents, management or property team of any actions that need to be taken and deliver packages to resident's homes as requested
  • Provide information and answer inquiries, either regarding the community itself or local features of the neighborhood/area/city, events, recreational destinations, restaurants, stores, and nightlife venues
  • Provide information and resources for pet services, cleaning, dry cleaning/laundry, arranging for personal trainers, catering, party planning, or other services
  • Maintain, use and regularly update the building's resident portal system, including the management of amenity reservations, resident guest and vendor access and updating announcements in the system pertaining to the community as necessary
  • Maintain and regularly update the resident call directory and audit property information regularly or as requested by the Property Manager
  • Manage package intake and delivery, including seasonal volume increases and occasional evening doorto-door delivery (up to two hours during peak seasons)
  • Perform daily spot cleaning ("spiffing") of vacant homes and assist with apartment turns or guest suite cleaning as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of leasing offices, lobbies, hallways, and amenity spaces at all times.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance days and provide cross-functional team support to meet resident needs and protect the property

    What You Bring

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • 1 year experience in hospitality, service, or property management preferred
    • Excellent time-management and organization skills, ability to work in an efficient manner with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through
    • Strong communication and writing skills required
    • Event planning experience preferred
    • Social media and content creation preferred
    • Self-starting personality that can work well with limited direction
    • Strong project management skills; results-driven focus and approach

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required, and experience with YARDI preferred
