Job description

Job Purpose: The Assistant Director of Residence Life is a live-in staff member who assists in the oversight of the management of the University's residential program and student disciplinary process.ย 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the supervision, training, and evaluation of graduate-level village coordinators and Resident Assistantsย 
  • Provides leadership for the residential program in addressing students' needs and interests to increase student satisfaction and retentionย 
  • Assists with planning and implementing social and educational programs for studentsย 
  • Collaboratively coordinates biweekly all-staff meetingsย 
  • Assists with institutional events and activitiesย 
  • Works collaboratively with the Director to coordinate specific department-wide task forces, projects, and programs as neededย 
  • Collaborates with other Batten departments in providing oversight and direction for high-level service to both students and staffย 
  • Assists in coordinating the housing selection processย 
  • Serves as a member of the Administrator On-Call (AOC) team for all on-campus villages for crises that ariseย 
  • Perform other duties as assignedย 

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in higher education, student personnel, or similar discipline
  • Three years of supervisory residence life experience at an institution of higher education preferred
