Job Title
R&D Engineer III - Oxide Ceramics
As the R&D Engineer III, you will provide engineering support and technical guidance to material, product, and process development programs. This role focuses on oxide ceramics formulation and processing.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Take a major role in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Leads individual project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
  • Devise advanced research methods and documents results and procedures.
  • Exercises responsibility for multiple pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.
  • Recommend new or upgrades to existing process and test equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company, providing guidance in his or her areas of expertise.
  • Promote the company's safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Direct the activities of technicians.
  • Coordinate pilot-plant or initial production runs on new products or processes.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering field, and at least five years relevant experience.
  • Or: Master's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering field, and at least three years relevant experience.
  • Or: PhD degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering filed.
  • Hands on oxide ceramic materials formulation and processing experience highly preferred.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of ceramic materials and processing.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented person necessary.
  • Team player.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Target Hiring Range
Annual Salary: USD 103,000.00 - USD 136,000.00
