Repair Manager

As the manager of the Wind Turbine Repair Shop, you will oversee all aspects of operations to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient repair and refurbishment of wind turbine components. You will promote a culture of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence, while maintaining strict adherence to safety and environmental standards

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations and company policies by implementing initiatives that improve workplace safety and reduce risk
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training, audits, and incident investigationsย 
  • Manage daily shop operations including scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and resource allocationย 
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure repaired components meet OEM and customer specificationsย 
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues
  • Collaborate with engineering and Quality Assurance teams to implement best practicesย 
  • Implement and sustain lean principles toย optimizeย workflow, reduce waste, and improve productivityย 
  • Manage 5S initiatives to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Facilitateย Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshopsย 
  • Monitor KPIs such as throughput, turnaround time, and cost efficiency as well as execute strategy through Strategic Deployment targetsย ย 
  • Ensureย timelyย delivery of repaired components to internal and external customersย 
  • Build andย maintainย stakeholder relations across Vestas' full value chain (technology, manufacturing, service)ย 
  • People performance and development dialogue, including one-to-one, target setting,ย trainingย and development plansย 
  • Identifyย and pursue new growth opportunitiesย 
  • Encourage a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth
  • All other duties assignedย

Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility (lead, supervisor, manager)ย 
  • Bachelor'sย degree in relevant field
  • Experience in wind, large scale manufacturing or aerospace requiredย 
  • Technical background in mechanical, composites, or electrical engineeringย ย 
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, (Green Belt or higher), OSHA, ISO 9001, 45001, 14001ย
