Are you a strategic business development leader who thrives on building new markets, developing high-value customer relationships, and turning complex technical capabilities into commercial growth? We are seeking a Business Development Manager - Energy Sector to lead market expansion and identify new growth opportunities across the energy value chain.
This highly visible role will focus on identifying, developing, and commercializing new applications for advanced thermoplastic, composite, and structural materials across energy infrastructure markets. The ideal candidate combines deep energy-sector knowledge with strong commercial strategy, technical curiosity, and a proven ability to create opportunities from the ground up.
What You'll Do
Drive Market Expansion & Growth Strategy
  • Identify and prioritize high-growth applications for thermoplastics, composite materials, and structural shapes across energy markets
  • Conduct market and application analyses to evaluate revenue potential, margins, competitive positioning, and commercial viability
  • Develop and execute market-entry and growth strategies for targeted energy applications
  • Translate advanced materials and manufacturing capabilities into scalable commercial opportunities
  • Build compelling business cases that support long-term market expansion
Develop Strategic Customer Relationships
  • Identify and build relationships with key decision-makers across OEMs, EPC firms, fabricators, and energy operators
  • Develop long-term partnerships with strategic customers across the energy value chain
  • Lead early-stage customer engagement to position advanced materials in new designs, specifications, and applications
  • Build credibility with senior executives, engineers, technical stakeholders, and procurement teams
Lead Application & Solution Development

  • Support the development and commercialization of next-generation thermoplastic, composite, and engineered part solutions
  • Help customers identify opportunities to improve performance, durability, reliability, and lifecycle value through advanced materials
Build & Manage a High-Value Opportunity Pipeline
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic growth opportunities and customer projects
  • Advance opportunities from initial market identification through customer engagement and commercialization
  • Lead contract negotiations and commercial agreements as needed
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Technical Teams, and Leadership to support successful execution
Deliver Market Intelligence & Industry Leadership
  • Monitor energy-sector trends, regulatory developments, technology shifts, and emerging applications
  • Analyze competitive positioning and identify whitespace opportunities
  • Provide strategic insights that inform market priorities and investment decisions
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, technical forums, and energy-sector events

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to evaluate market potential and business opportunities

Travel & Work Arrangement

The salary range for this position is $136,700.00-$170,900.00 USD Annual. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
