Job description

Duties: Perform power system studies using various software. Conduct load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash analysis, and transient stability studies. Develop and analyze relay protection schemes and ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and utility standards. Provide technical guidance on grid interconnection studies for renewable energy projects, substations, and transmission systems. Interface with internal and external team members including Electrical Engineers, Electrical Designers, Drafters, Discipline leads, Project Managers, and take ownership of the project to meet and exceed client expectations. Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing study results and recommendations. Prepare and review equipment specifications and procurement documents. Review manufacturer equipment drawings. Support the development of engineering standards and best practices related to power system analysis. Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing power system performance issues. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in power systems and renewable energy integration. No hire/fire authority.

Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, or relevant field and 5 years of experience in renewable energy, power generation or power delivery. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Proficiency in PSSE, ETAP, ASPEN, SKM, or similar tools. Experience with industry codes and standards including the IEEE, NESC, and NEC. Experience with renewable energy industry related to utility scale battery energy storage system and solar projects. Experience with power system studies including load flow, short circuit, grounding, and arc flash. Proficiency required in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to travel up to 10% nationally. Position is eligible for remote work.
