Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will handle a full caseload from inception through resolution, including appearances before the WCAB, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
·        Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters
·        Appear at hearings, including MSCs, status conferences, expedited hearings, and trials
·        Take and defend depositions (applicants, physicians, witnesses)
·        Handle all aspects of discovery, including subpoenas and medical record review
·        Draft pleadings, petitions, settlement documents, and correspondence
·        Evaluate claims for exposure and develop litigation strategies
·        Communicate effectively with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel
·        Negotiate settlements and attend informal settlement conferences
Qualifications
·        1–5+ years of workers’ compensation defense experience preferred (newly admitted candidates
with relevant exposure will be considered)
·        Strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation laws and procedures
·        Experience appearing before the WCAB
·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·        Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively
·        Strong analytical and negotiation skills
