Job description

Midwest Technical Inspections (MTI) is seeking experienced physical premium auditors to work on an independent contractor basis throughout the state of Florida. MTI provides nationwide premium audit services for clients in the insurance industry and conducts audits of Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, Garage Liability and Auto policies primarily.

Headquartered in Hanover Park, Illinois, MTI specializes in verified, telephone, and physical audits. Premium auditors examine primary and secondary source documents to determine accurate exposures. We research businesses in all industries to correctly classify the risk, verify the classification of employees and convey all relevant information back to our clients. In addition to premium audits, MTI (established in 1988) provides field inspections, telephone inspections, safety consulting, and loss control services.

As an independent contractor physical premium auditor for MTI, you will enjoy a:

We are seeking independent contractor physical premium auditors to:

  • Perform physical premium audits for Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability and Garage Liability policies.
  • Examine financial records to determine the correct premium basis and exposures.
  • Complete quality, accurate, and timely audit reports by using company software.
  • Deliver superior internal and external customer service.

The ideal physical premium auditor should have:

  • Minimum 1 year of Premium Audit experience and knowledge of all lines of coverage including General Liability, Garage Liability, and Worker's Compensation.
  • Proficiency with payroll documents and financial statements.
  • Working knowledge of class codes, PAAS, ISO, NCCI and state rules.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to independently manage assigned audits.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and access to high-speed Internet
  • Ability to work independently and have a solid sense of self-motivation and self-discipline.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years Premium Audit experience
  • APA and/or CPCU designation
  • Proficiency with Nexus Audit software
