LMI is seeking a skilled Technical Project Specialist - (TPS) to support Software Modernization / Cloud Transformation under a large and complex United States Postal Service (USPS) portfolio. A qualified Technical Project Specialist will have over 8 years of experience supporting government contracts by overseeing complex software development initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing resource allocation and project schedules, and driving technology modernization activities-including cloud migration and business process transformation. The candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to track and manage multiple project interdependencies, apply critical thinking to resolve complex challenges, and perform resource management functions-all while upholding the highest ethical standards. Responsibilities
  • Work within the program management office to oversee multiple stakeholders and manage complex project schedule interdependencies, ensuring successful coordination of software development and modernization initiatives.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication across a geographically distributed project team comprised of software engineers, subcontractors, subject matter experts, and client representatives; leverage collaborative tools to support seamless remote development workflows.
  • Exercise semi-autonomous decision-making with project stakeholders to resolve intricate project scheduling conflicts, particularly those arising from database development timelines, application deployment cycles, and migration activities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in requirements decomposition and systems integration, serving as a bridge between business requirements and technical implementation across on-premises and cloud-native environments.
  • Support key consulting projects and modernization initiatives, including hands-on access to SQL Developer for ad-hoc database queries, schema reviews, and data integrity checks.
  • Perform log analysis on Unix servers to support root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and proactive issue resolution within legacy services.
  • Participate in application code review processes via GitHub-ensuring code quality, compliance with best practices, and facilitating team-based collaboration on pull requests and feature development.
  • Engage with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services as part of ongoing modernization efforts; support the development and migration of legacy applications to the cloud.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of technical strategies and project plans, including the creation of deliverables, detailed technical analyses, and timely responses to client requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum ofย 8-10 years of experience in two or more practices: technical project management; software architecture, software development, project scheduling; business process improvement; business consulting; continuous improvement.
  • Consultancy experience with large, complex projects
  • Must demonstrate soft skills such as: relationship building; influencing others; emotional intelligence; and exemplary communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft products: Power Apps, Power BI, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
  • Successful performance operating within an autonomous and collaborative virtual environment
  • Ability to thrive in multiple ambiguous environments; take initiative to exceed client expectations.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations
  • Significant understanding of project management fundamentals and ability to work within project constraints
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance - US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder); if Green Card holder, must have resided in the US for the last 5 years and must not have traveled outside of the US for a combined total of 6 months during that time

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Agile practice of Scrum

The target salary range for this position is $135,000-$160,000.ย 

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.ย
