This is a remote position.
ITTConnect is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work remotely from anywhere in Brazil for a client in the US.
MUST BE fluent in English.
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer provides advanced technical expertise within the Managed Services organization and serves as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues. In addition to resolving advanced incidents, this role contributes to technical leadership, root cause analysis, documentation, and the planning and implementation of infrastructure solutions delivered through Professional Services engagements. Senior Infrastructure Engineers are expected to have a broad understanding of infrastructure technologies, but responsibilities may be primarily focused on a specific infrastructure area.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full lifecycle of complex infrastructure incidents, from detection through resolution and post-incident review, ensuring accountability for technical outcomes, stability, and documentation.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of critical incidents, driving coordination across internal teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders.
  • Make technical decisions and take end-to-end ownership of infrastructure issues, driving resolution without reliance on further escalation.
  • Lead technical delivery of infrastructure projects, including scoping, estimation, design, and implementation.
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop long-term remediation strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Validate and approve infrastructure changes, designs, and remediation strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Contribute to architecture documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Design and implement automation and process improvements to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in change management and project planning activities.

Requirements
  • 12+ years of IT experience.
  • MUST BE fluent in English.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Deep experience with virtualization, storage, operating systems, and cloud platforms.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting complex multi-system infrastructure issues.
  • Experience designing and implementing infrastructure solutions.

Preferred
  • Certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft, or cloud infrastructure certifications.
  • Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment with exposure to ITIL-based service delivery models.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing IT infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies including VMware vSphere, Cisco UCS, and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD).
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including infrastructure design, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and enterprise storage platforms.
  • Familiarity with identity platforms (Active Directory, Okta), firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco FTD), and backup/disaster recovery solutions is a plus.
