Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Network and Telecommunications is responsible for leading the teams that operate and secure the organization's enterprise network, network-security, telecommunications and contact-centre platforms.This role provides direct leadership to a centralized network team responsible for maintaining secure,reliable connectivity across the organization and a telecommunications team responsible for enterprise voice and contact-centre services. The Senior Manager ensures that daily operations are effectively managed, priorities are clear, service issues are addressed and the teams' work remains aligned with business needs and the organization's broader technology and cybersecurity strategies.The successful candidate will be an experienced people leader with strong operational discipline, broad knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and the ability to build effective relationships across a complex organization.

Job Specifications:

Job Responsibilities: 

People and Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop employees across the enterprise network and telecommunications teams.
  • Establish clear expectations, priorities, responsibilities and performance objectives.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, team meetings, performance discussions and development planning.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable and service-oriented team culture.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, succession planning and employee development.
  • Ensure team members have the skills, documentation, tools and support necessary to perform their roles effectively.

Operational Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, availability, performance and security of enterprise network and telecommunications services.
  • Establish and maintain visibility into team workload, operational health, project progress, risks, dependencies and upcoming priorities.
  • Ensure operational issues, service requests, incidents, vulnerabilities and technical debt are prioritized and addressed appropriately.
  • Lead or coordinate escalations involving significant service interruptions, security concerns or business impacts.
  • Ensure incidents are followed by appropriate problem management, root-cause analysis, documentation and corrective action.
  • Support change-management, incident-management, problem-management, capacity-planning and lifecycle-management practices.
  • Promote the development and maintenance of accurate technical documentation, operating procedures, support models and recovery plans.
  • Participate in operational readiness, business continuity and disaster-recovery planning and testing.
  • Manage technology vendors, service providers, licensing, support agreements and related financial commitments.

Enterprise Network and Security

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the organization's enterprise network and network-security environment.
  • Ensure network services are designed and operated to provide secure, reliable, scalable and resilient connectivity.
  • Oversee technologies including:
    • Check Point firewalls and associated security services
    • Cato Networks Secure Access Service Edge (SASE
    • Zero Networks microsegmentation
    • Enterprise routing, switching, wireless, remote-access and connectivity services
    • Network monitoring, logging, vulnerability remediation and security controls
  • Work closely with cybersecurity, identity, cloud, architecture and infrastructure teams to ensure network-security controls align with organizational policies and risk requirements.
  • Ensure vulnerabilities, unsupported technologies, configuration risks and security findings are identified, prioritized and remediated.
  • Maintain current awareness of cybersecurity threats, industry trends, emerging technologies and evolving network-security practices.
  • Encourage automation, standardization, observability and continuous improvement across network operations.

Telecommunications and Contact Centre

  • Provide leadership and oversight for enterprise telecommunications, voice and contact-centre platforms.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, supportability and ongoing modernization of the organization's enterprise Avaya environment.
  • Oversee Amazon Connect operations and support the continued evolution of cloud-based contact-centre capabilities.
  • Work with business and technology partners to understand requirements for voice, contact-centre and customer-engagement services.
  • Support integration, migration, lifecycle, resiliency and service-improvement initiatives across telecommunications platforms.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, telecommunications vendors, contact-centre partners and managed-service providers.

Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with business leaders, technology teams, cybersecurity partners, vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the network and telecommunications teams in operational, project, architecture, security and planning discussions.
  • Communicate service health, priorities, risks, constraints and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve competing priorities, clarify ownership and coordinate work across teams.
  • Help develop and maintain technology roadmaps for enterprise networking, network security, telecommunications and contact-centre services.
  • Translate business requirements and organizational strategy into practical technology plans and investments.
  • Develop business cases, budgets, forecasts and investment recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the environment, reduce risk, improve service quality, automate operations and manage costs.
  • Provide informed recommendations while remaining current on relevant technologies, security practices and industry developments.

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • At least five years of experience managing a technology-focused team.
  • Demonstrated experience leading employees, establishing priorities, managing performance and developing technical talent.
  • Experience managing enterprise infrastructure, networking, network security, telecommunications, contact-centre technology or a closely related technical function.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise operational practices, including incident, problem, change, capacity and lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational escalations and coordinating responses across multiple teams.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to develop productive relationships across technical and business functions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues, risks and recommendations clearly to senior leaders and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Current understanding of cybersecurity risks and the role of network controls in protecting enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing large, geographically distributed enterprise networks.
  • Experience with Check Point firewalls, Cato SASE, Zero Networks or comparable network-security and microsegmentation technologies.
  • Experience supporting Avaya enterprise telecommunications platforms.
  • Experience with Amazon Connect or another cloud contact-centre platform.
  • Experience working in a hybrid environment spanning on-premises infrastructure, public cloud, branch locations and remote users.
  • Experience managing telecommunications carriers, technology vendors, managed-service providers or outsourced delivery partners.
  • Familiarity with zero-trust architecture, cloud networking, automation, observability and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Relevant industry certifications in networking, cybersecurity, cloud, telecommunications, IT service management or people leadership
