Description

Survey Technician III will assist the CAD Manager and Project Managers in processing and QA/QC of all field data. They assist with project research, setup, and deliverables.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed drawings in AutoCAD/Civil accuracy, and speed.
  • Interpret field crew notes, analyze and process conventional and GPS data.
  • Perform deed analysis and prepare working sketches from deeds and other sources for field and other uses.
  • Produce metes and bounds descriptions, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and other survey related deliverables.
  • Compile data necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
  • Prepare topographical and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes.
  • Advanced knowledge level of survey practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Assist and review work completed by Survey Technician I and II.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • CST II/III Required; CST IV is preferred.
  • High level of skill in drawing diagrams, charts and maps; explaining charts and maps; planning land and water surveys; preparing technical or research reports; and surveying and measuring land.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally with co-workers and clients and be able to follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance as per the work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).

  • Position is flexible based on employee location, we are open to in office, hybrid, or fully remote option (to be determined on a case-by-case basis).
  • Is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to forty-five pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
