  • Perform database administration tasks including patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Manage and support AlwaysOn Availability Groups, failover configurations, and database replication
  • Lead and contribute to SQL Server projects, such as:
    • Standing up new SQL Server instances (e.g., SQL Server 2025 Enterprise)
    • Migrating legacy SQL Server environments to modern platforms
    • Supporting cloud migration initiatives (e.g., document management systems)
  • Collaborate with systems analysts and development teams on data operations (scripting, inserts/updates, data movement)
  • Evaluate current environments and provide recommendations for optimization and best practices
  • Support environments spanning on-prem, SaaS, and virtualized infrastructure (VMware, with movement toward Hyper-V)
  • Work with advanced data structures including data warehouses, replicas, tabular models, and cubes

Preferred Experience of the Database Administrator:

  • Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments

  • Proven expertise in:
    • Performance tuning and monitoring
    • Backup/recovery and disaster recovery planning
    • SQL Server architecture and high availability design
    • Replication and database scalability
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • AlwaysOn Availability Groups and failover clustering
    • Database scripting and querying (T-SQL)
    • Reporting tools such as SSRS and Power BI
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in remote environments
  • Experience supporting both legacy systems and modernized SQL environments
  • Comfortable working independently as the sole DBA on a team

Bonus Experience of the Database Administrator:

    • Familiarity with legal/financial systems such as Elite 3E or Aderant
    • Exposure to enterprise platforms including, iManage, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, FoundationIP, Box file transfer systems
    • Experience supporting cloud migrations and hybrid environments from a data perspective
