Job description


SAIC is seeking an experienced server System Administrator in support of a managed services engagement for a major Public Sector account. This is a fully remote position.
The successful candidate will join a team of server Administrators responsible for:
Managing our client's Windows Servers, Linux Servers, Azure, and M365 services and systems.
You will be required to install and manage IaaS services, PaaS services, M365 services, Active Directory, Exchange, VMWare including and not limited to -- performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, security, and operational and application support. Along with the rest of the team this position will be on rotation 7x24 on-call support duties.
The incumbent should have extensive experience with Windows Server and Linux Server Administrative tooling, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in all aspects listed above.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years or more experience; Four additional years' experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certifications in one or more of following areas; Azure Solution Architect Expert, DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, or equivalent are highly recommended.
  • Must be a US Citizen and must be able to pass the California Department of Justice and FBI background check process.
  • USPV+ REQUIREMENT: USPV+: will be a requirement.
  • Can't start or get equipment shipped until this is completed during onboarding.

Experience and Skills:
  • Administration of Azure Services including but not limited to:
    • Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Azure solutions related to IaaS, PaaS services (compute, storage, network, and security).
    • Working knowledge of container-based infrastructure on Azure (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, etc.).
    • Backup, Recovery, HA solutions for Azure environments.
    • Experience in development using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, JSON, Bicep etc.).
  • Windows Server administration includes; installation, configuration, upgrades, migration, and patching.
  • Linux Server administration includes; configuration, upgrades, migration, and patching.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving, application infrastructure, connectivity, and security issues in Azure and On-Prem environments.
  • Troubleshoot server related performance issues related to resources e.g., CPU, memory, disk, and other resources.
  • VMWare Administration includes; the ability to build, configure, and maintain a VMWare environment (ESXi, vCenter) along with experience in the usage of the platform.
  • On-Premises Exchange Administration includes; the ability to build and configure new mailbox servers, and Edge SMTP servers; along with the day to day maintenance .
  • Strong understanding and background in design and server administration of an Active Directory and Entra (Azure AD) environment including managing Group Policy and Azure Policies.
  • Knowledge in DNS Server, DHCP Server, Kerberos, and Windows Auth.
  • Knowledge of VPN connectivity and client troubleshooting.
  • Administering Exchange Online, MS Teams, and Office 365.
  • Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration Mgmt. using ServiceNow.
