What is a Remote Series 6?

Remote Series 6 jobs are positions that allow professionals to work from home or another remote location while utilizing their Series 6 license, which qualifies them to sell certain investment products like mutual funds, variable annuities, and insurance products. These roles often involve working as a financial advisor, customer service representative, or sales representative for financial institutions. Remote Series 6 professionals typically provide client support, process transactions, and offer investment advice over the phone or online. The flexibility of remote work makes these jobs appealing to those seeking a better work-life balance while still maintaining a career in the financial services industry.

How does working as a Remote Series 6 differ from an in-office role in terms of daily responsibilities and team collaboration?

As a Remote Series 6 representative, you'll spend most of your day handling client inquiries, processing mutual fund transactions, and providing information on variable annuities via phone or digital channels. While you won't have face-to-face interactions, you'll collaborate closely with your team through virtual meetings, instant messaging, and shared platforms to ensure consistent client service. Remote roles often require greater self-discipline and proactive communication, but employers typically provide robust digital tools and regular check-ins to maintain a supportive environment. This setup allows for flexibility but also demands strong organizational skills to manage tasks independently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Series 6 financial representative, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Series 6 Financial Representative, you need a comprehensive understanding of investment products, securities regulations, and a valid FINRA Series 6 license. Familiarity with CRM platforms, financial planning software, and digital communication tools is essential for managing client relationships and transactions remotely. Outstanding interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly are critical soft skills in this role. These abilities are vital for building client trust, ensuring regulatory compliance, and achieving sales goals in a virtual environment.

**This role requires you to have your securities license - if you want to apply for a traditional insurance sales role within our organization, please apply for the remote Account Manager role or the in-person Business Development role.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:

As a with , you'll lead our investment planning team and serve as the trusted advisor our customers turn to for the decisions that shape their financial future. This is a relationship-driven, consultative role: you'll meet with individuals and families, understand where they want to go, and build the strategy that get them there.
You bring deep product knowledge and the licensing to back it up, but what sets you apart is your ability to translate complexity into clarity—helping customers feel confident, informed, and cared for at every step. As the leader of this department, you'll set the standard for how financial planning is done at our agency and have a direct hand in growing it.
WHAT WE BRING:

  • Roughly 10,000 existing State Farm households to farm for investment and protection opportunities—warm relationships, not cold leads.
  • A dedicated telemarketer who sets qualified appointments directly on your calendar, so you spend your time advising, not prospecting.
  • Comprehensive training on products, systems, and processes to set you up for success from day one.
  • Dedicated wholesalers on call to support you with product questions and case design.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Meet with customers to conduct thorough financial needs analyses and design strategies built around their goals.
  • Recommend and place investment products, variable products, life insurance, disability coverage, and related solutions.
  • Manage customer relationships and provide proactive, ongoing guidance as their needs evolve.
  • Build and lead the investment planning function—setting process, standards, and growth direction.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, product changes, and regulatory developments.
  • Deliver presentations that build trust and generate opportunity.
  • Maintain meticulous records and ensure full compliance with all industry regulations.
WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Do not apply unless you have an active Series 6 or 7 license, Series 63 (Series 65 a plus), plus applicable state life, health, and variable products license.
  • Proven experience advising clients on investment and insurance products - this is not an entry-level role.
  • Drive to exceed the goals set for you and build a substantial book of business quickly - intrinsically motivated
  • A consultative, goals-first approach and a track record of building strong referral bases.
  • Strong analytical skills and genuine fluency with financial products and markets.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make complex topics simple.
  • High ethical standards, professionalism, and a commitment to acting in the customer's best interest.
