The School Social Worker position is remote, allowing for a flexible work setting that prioritizes work-life balance. You will work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, aligning with the school calendar, including holidays and breaks. While the role mainly operates remotely, you may occasionally be required to participate in special events, parent-teacher conferences, or collaborate directly with students and families in the local community.

In the capacity of School Social Worker, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs to identify challenges that may impact their academic performance.
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating tailored intervention plans aimed at addressing students' specific issues while promoting overall well-being and academic success.
• Providing individual and group counseling sessions focused on enhancing self-esteem, improving peer relationships, managing behavior, and addressing crises effectively.
• Collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to implement strategies that support students' growth, ensuring transparency and communication across all parties involved.
• Assisting in the identification of students requiring further specialized services, such as mental health counseling, and facilitating referrals to appropriate community resources.
• Advocating for students' rights, ensuring they receive the necessary educational opportunities, resources, and support systems available to them.
• Conducting home visits and liaising with community agencies to provide holistic support for students and their families.
• Facilitating workshops and educational programs on critical topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and mental health awareness to empower students, parents, and staff.
• Maintaining accurate records of student interactions, assessments, and intervention outcomes while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with professional ethics.
• Staying updated with the latest research and best practices in school social work through continuous professional development.

The role primarily focuses on supporting a diverse range of students, some of whom may face challenges related to mental health issues, family dynamics, or social integration. Students may come from various backgrounds and possess different needs, and your role will be to ensure that every student feels seen, heard, and supported in their educational journey.

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Current and valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience in social work, ideally within an educational setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of child development, effective behavior management techniques, and family dynamics.
• Strong understanding of relevant educational laws, policies, and procedures for student services.
• Exceptional assessment and counseling skills, combined with robust problem-solving capabilities.
• Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and an ability to connect with students and families to foster trust.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, complemented by an aptitude for collaboration with various stakeholders.

Although not mandatory, candidates with experience in a school environment, particularly in handling situations involving children with behavioral challenges or mental health issues, will receive preference. Familiarity with community resources and services related to education and mental health will also be advantageous.
