Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work efficiently and effectively from the comfort of your home, while also accessing the necessary tools and resources provided by our organization. The work schedule typically operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, aligning with the school calendar, including holidays and breaks. Flexibility may be necessary for attending special events or facilitating parent-teacher conferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and individualized interviewing techniques.
• Create, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans tailored to each student's needs, ensuring alignment with educational goals and personal growth objectives.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions that focus on behavior management, building self-esteem, improving peer relationships, and crisis intervention strategies.
• Collaborate with educators, school administrators, parents, and community resources to develop and implement proactive strategies that foster students’ academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
• Identify students requiring specialized services and facilitate referrals to mental health professionals or community service agencies to secure additional support.
• Advocate for students’ rights, ensuring access to appropriate educational opportunities and resources while maintaining confidentiality.
• Conduct home visits or coordinate with community agencies to gather critical information, assess family dynamics, and provide necessary support for students and their families.
• Facilitate workshops and educational programs that address vital topics such as bullying prevention and mental health awareness for students, parents, and faculty.
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation of all interactions with students, assessments conducted, and interventions applied.
• Stay informed about best practices in school social work through professional development opportunities, adapting your approaches as necessary to meet the evolving needs of students.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on a diverse student population within our educational framework, including different age groups and varying degrees of academic performance and emotional challenges. The School Social Worker will work closely with students from multifaceted backgrounds, understanding their unique needs and experiences in the context of the community health clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a social work capacity, ideally within an educational setting or similar framework.
• In-depth knowledge of child development, behavior management techniques, and family dynamics.
• Strong understanding of educational laws, policies, and ethical guidelines pertaining to student services.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Demonstrated empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the capability to engage with students from a variety of backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a community health setting or collaborating with healthcare providers.
• Proficiency in specific methodologies and techniques relevant to mental health and behavior interventions.
• Experience facilitating workshops or training sessions for families and educators.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 60,000 to 100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
