Seasonal Soil Sampling Technician - Ellsworth, IA


AgSource is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a position of Seasonal Soil Sampling Technician to cover areas around Iowa. This successful candidate will be responsible for accurately perform sample collection activities according to approved standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality control guidelines. Also, to ensure collection services are conducted within anticipated laboratory turn-times. This is a remote position, but candidates need to be located in Iowa.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately perform sample collection activities according to approved standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality control guidelines.
  • Collect adequate sample volumes at designated GPS locations.
  • Maintain records of field data and samples collected.
  • Coordinate sample delivery to the laboratory.
  • Perform preventative and daily maintenance of designated equipment.
  • Communicate equipment service needs with management.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with growers, clients, dealers and other agribusiness agents as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison between growers or clients and management as necessary.


REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail orientated nature.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Scheduling flexibility and ability to work overtime as needed based on workflow and deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (40 - 90°F) as well as wet or dry conditions.
  • Willingness to grow and develop both personally and professionally
