Job description

The Team:

The Communications department is responsible for strategic deployment of Press & Influencer Relations, Special Events and Advertising across all media channels to support the growth of awareness for Hermes in the US. Our mission is to share the rich story of Hermes, highlighting the value of creativity, commitment to quality and signature craftmanship model. Our strategy is based on the activation of 360 media campaigns employing Paid, Owned and Earned media.

The Opportunity:

As the Showroom Manager, you will provide direct support to the Press & Influence team by managing  sample trafficking as well as overall inventory support. You will contribute toward a clean annual inventory with low shrink by upkeeping a highly organized system of sample management and cycle counts.

About the Role:

Stock & Inventory Management

  • Maintain complete, accurate records of all press samples across categories (ready-to-wear, leather goods, silk, jewelry, footwear, accessories, homeware) using the sample management system (e.g. Launchmetrics/Fashion GPS)

  • Receive, register, tag, and photograph new collection samples upon arrival each season

  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies

  • Organize and maintain the press showroom and stockroom to Hermes standards of order and presentation

Loans & Logistics

  • Process all incoming sample requests from magazines, newspapers, digital media, stylists, and international Hermes subsidiaries

  • Prepare, pack, and dispatch send-outs with appropriate documentation, insurance, and customs paperwork for international shipments

  • Track all outgoing loans, monitor return deadlines, and chase overdue items with tact and persistence

  • Perform condition checks on all returning samples; flag damage, coordinate repairs with the ateliers, and manage related follow-up

  • Send and track credit requests for all loans, ensuring Hermes is correctly credited 

Team & Cross-Functional Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the press team on all matters of sample availability and location

  • Manage and oversee 3 freelancers, delegating tasks and ensuring quality and consistency of work

  • Ensure compliance with all asset protection and inventory control guidelines while fostering strong cross-departmental relationships to maintain clear communication regarding processes and procedures.

  • Coordinate closely with the collections, merchandising, and retail teams on sample allocation each season

  • Support shoot productions, press days, showroom appointments, and events with sample preparation and on-site stock support

  • Assist with end-of-season processes: sample returns to Paris, archiving, and internal sales or destruction protocols

  • All other duties assigned by supervisor

About You: 

  • 3-5 years' experience in fashion sample management, press office coordination, or luxury retail stock operations

  • Proficiency with sample tracking software (Launchmetrics/Fashion GPS or equivalent) and Excel

  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and follow-through

  • Discretion and a strong sense of service; comfortable working with high-value products and confidential collections

  • Calm under pressure, especially during fashion week and shoot deadlines

  • Physically comfortable with the demands of stockroom work (lifting, packing, standing)

The range for this position is $90,000 - $95,000 Annually. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
