What is a remote Salesforce startup?

A Remote Salesforce Startup is a company or business that primarily operates online and builds its products or services around the Salesforce platform. These startups typically leverage Salesforce’s cloud-based tools to deliver solutions for customer relationship management (CRM), sales, support, and marketing—while their teams work remotely. Employees, founders, and clients interact virtually, allowing for greater flexibility and access to global talent. Such startups may offer consulting, app development, or integration services tailored for Salesforce customers. The remote aspect helps reduce overhead costs and adapt quickly to client needs.

What are the unique challenges of working in a remote Salesforce startup environment?

Working in a remote Salesforce startup often means adapting to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment where team members may be distributed across different time zones. Collaboration relies heavily on digital communication tools, which requires strong self-motivation and proactive communication skills. You may also encounter the challenge of balancing multiple responsibilities, as startups typically have lean teams where each member wears many hats. However, this dynamic setting offers ample opportunities to quickly develop new skills, contribute to core business decisions, and advance your career as the company grows.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote Salesforce startup professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Salesforce Startup professional, you need a solid understanding of Salesforce platform fundamentals, CRM strategies, and business development, often supported by a relevant degree or experience in tech startups. Proficiency with Salesforce tools (like Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud), as well as certifications such as Salesforce Administrator or Developer, are highly valued. Strong communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills are essential for remote collaboration and driving growth in a fast-paced environment. These skills enable effective platform implementation, client engagement, and agile adaptation critical for startup success.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Enterprise Account Director to join our dynamic team. As a pivotal member of our sales force, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives focused on our security for AI products and services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and customer success to ensure the delivery of comprehensive solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

WHO WE ARE:

HiddenLayer protects the world's most valuable technologies from adversarial AI attacks. We were founded by AI professionals and security specialists with first-hand experience of how insidious adversarial AI attacks can be to detect and defend against. Determined to prove that these attacks were preventable, the team developed a unique, patent-pending, productized solution to support organizations in accelerating their adoption of AI securely.

Our dedication to innovation has been recognized by prestigious awards such as RSA's Innovation Sandbox Winner, CB Insights AI 100, CyberTech 100, and SC's Most Promising Early-Stage Start-up.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base within the security for AI market segment.
  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives and decision-makers, to understand their business needs and position our solutions effectively.
  • Lead complex negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring favorable terms that align with company objectives and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized proposals, presentations, and demonstrations that showcase the value proposition of our security for AI solutions.
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics, forecasting accuracy, and pipeline management using CRM tools to drive informed business decisions.
  • Represent HiddenLayer at industry events, conferences, and seminars to promote our brand and establish thought leadership in the security for AI space.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in enterprise sales within the cybersecurity or AI technology industry, with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Deep understanding of AI security concepts, including machine learning, threat detection, anomaly detection, and data protection.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex technical solutions into tangible business benefits for customers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of an organization.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
