Description
As an Presales Enterprise Architect, this individual will focus on a customer's overall IT architecture at a strategic level taking into consideration a customer's business goals, long-term, technical requirements and constraints. The Enterprise Architect will propose and developed solutions that will address enterprise-wide projects, often across multiple domains, departments, or systems. The Enterprise Architect focus is how various solutions fit together to support the business strategy and scalability across the entire organization.
The presales Enterprise Architect will be expected to harmonize customer strategic roadmaps, OEM strategic roadmaps, and Blue Mantis product roadmaps by working closely with practice managers, principals, and leaders to ensure continued relevance within the existing customer base as well as go to market strategies.
The Enterprise Architect will evangelize and promote Blue Mantis at customer, industry, and symposiums events as a highly proficient public speaker, capable of interacting simultaneously with the C-suite and in-the-trenches engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement and Solution Design:
  • Work alongside sales teams to understand customer business goals and challenges.
  • Lead technical discussions with existing and potential customers to assess requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Design scalable, flexible, and cost-effective architectures that align with client needs.
  • Create high-level architecture designs and conceptual diagrams that address both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to refine the scope, goals, and deliverables for proposed solutions.
  • Drive growth and client success with assigned portfolio of top accounts

Technical Leadership and Advisory:
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging technology trends, ensuring that proposed solutions yield meaningful business outcomes and emphasize cross-practice selling motions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the company's portfolio of solutions, including cloud services, cybersecurity, data center infrastructure, networking and end-point.
  • Advise clients on IT best practices, industry standards, and regulations to optimize their infrastructure.

Proposal and Bid Support:
  • Work closely with sales teams to develop compelling proposals, RFP responses, and bid presentations.
  • Estimate the required resources, costs, and timelines for proposed solutions.
  • Document solution architectures and ensure consistency across proposals and implementations.
  • Support account executives in technical presentations and demonstrations.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with Practice leaders and technical delivery teams to ensure that the architecture is implemented according to design principles.
  • Maintain strong relationships with partners and vendors to ensure that proposed solutions leverage the best available technologies.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales, delivery, and other customer-facing personnel to ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Executive Leadership, Advisory Services, Presales Management, and Delivery, to incorporate feedback from pre-sales engagements into future solutions.

Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, sharing insights with colleagues and customers.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior members of the pre-sales and solutions teams.
  • Participate in internal review meetings, debriefings, and retrospectives to improve pre-sales processes and solution delivery.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in enterprise IT architecture, including cloud computing, networking, storage, virtualization, cybersecurity, unified communications, and data management.
  • In-depth understanding of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS) models.
  • Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, Aruba, HP, Dell, VMware, Nutanix, Pure Storage.
  • In-depth understanding of enterprise networking and security technologies
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2).
  • Proficient in designing multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with solution architectures for various verticals such as financial services, healthcare, retail, etc.

Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, Cisco CCIE, VMware VCP, TOGAF).
  • ITIL or other service management frameworks certifications are a plus.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a focus on enterprise solutions in a pre-sales or consulting capacity.
  • Previous experience with managed services providers (MSP) or systems integrators (SI) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience working with large enterprise clients, designing end-to-end IT solutions.

  • Success rate of technical proposals and winning bids.
  • Customer satisfaction and feedback from pre-sales engagements.
  • Ability to meet proposal deadlines and contribute to sales targets.
  • Quality and accuracy of architectural designs and documentation.
