Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a talented Language Expert (Brazilian Portuguese) to support the localization of our games, products, and services.

As the Language Expert, you will own the quality, consistency, and creative integrity of Brazilian Portuguese across playerfacing experiences. You bring strong linguistic judgment, deep cultural awareness, and a passion for the craft of localization, ensuring our voice, tone, and intent resonate authentically with Brazilian Portuguesespeaking players.

In this role, you will serve as the primary owner for Brazilian Portuguese localization, reviewing and validating localized content to ensure it is accurate, culturally appropriate, and safe for release. This includes identifying and addressing potential historical, political, or social sensitivities relevant to Brazil. You are a trusted partner to global and regional stakeholders and are comfortable balancing creative ownership with autonomy in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.

You will also contribute to ongoing efforts to improve localization quality, workflows, and tooling, including participating in initiatives that explore new technologies and automation to support efficiency and scale.

Note: This is a temporary position for a 10-month period. This is a fully remote position within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Own Brazilian Portuguese (ptBR) language decisions and ensure creative cohesion endtoend.

  • Serve as the vision holder for ingame and outofgame localized content, directing and reviewing assets to ensure a highquality player experience.

  • Provide clear, professional linguistic feedback and recommendations to external vendors and internal localization partners to uphold Blizzard quality standards.

  • Collaborate closely with the Global Localization team and crossfunctional stakeholders on initiatives that improve player engagement, quality, and efficiency.

  • Contribute to defining the creative direction, terminology, and linguistic standards of localized products and services.

  • Coordinate with internal partners to ensure localization quality expectations are consistently met.

  • Identify, track, and address localization quality issues, including cultural, historical, political, or social sensitivities relevant to Brazil, working with vendors to resolve them through guidance and process improvements.

  • Participate in additional crossfunctional projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional localization experience.

  • Excellent Brazilian Portuguese and English linguistic skills, with strong grammar and orthography expertise in Brazilian Portuguese.

  • Experience reviewing localized content and providing clear, professional linguistic feedback.

  • Strong knowledge of localizationspecific and translation tools (e.g., memoQ, CAT tools).

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.

  • Able to work effectively in a multicultural team with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated interest in exploring and leveraging new technologies and solutions to improve localization workflows.

Bonus Points

  • Passion for video games, heroic fantasy, scifi worlds, or pop culture.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $27.42 - $50.72 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location.
