Accounting Specialist (Payroll Focus)

Green Bay, WI | Corporate Office | On-Site

Do you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time? Home Instead is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our Corporate Finance team in Green Bay.

This position is ideal for someone with accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or finance experience who enjoys working behind the scenes to support employees and business operations. While payroll will be your primary focus, you'll also have opportunities to assist with accounting processes, improve workflows, and become a key resource for our payroll and HR systems.

You'll work closely with Finance and HR leadership while helping support payroll for more than 1,500 employees across multiple states.

What You'll Do
  • Support payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Review employee information and payroll data for accuracy
  • Assist with new hires, employee changes, and payroll updates
  • Help research and resolve payroll questions and discrepancies
  • Provide friendly, timely support to employees and managers
  • Assist with payroll reporting and compliance activities
  • Help improve payroll and accounting processes
  • Learn and support our UKG Pro payroll and HR system
  • Partner with Finance and HR on special projects and other accounting-related responsibilities as needed
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, finance, or a related administrative role
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Experience with payroll software such as UKG is helpful but not required
  • Multi-state payroll experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right candidate
