Operations Research Analyst, Senior
The Opportunity:
As a Senior Operations Research Analyst (ORSA), you're passionate about exploring the root cause of an issue and then analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations for a creative solution. We need an experienced ORSA like you to help us solve complex problems for our clients. As the leader of our Analytics Team, you'll determine, employ, and lead the way for innovative analytic methods delivering impactful solutions.
You won't go at it alone, you'll work alongside our Analytics Team, operational SMEs, technology experts, and clients to plan analytic methodologies, conduct research, gather data, analyze findings, interpret results, and convey findings to multiple audiences. You'll lead your team to develop and updates web and cloud-based analytic apps, produce briefs, documents, presentations, and talking points, and present results, collaborate with stakeholders, and participate in various program meetings to improve program efficiency.
In this role, you'll use your passion for operations research to devise qualitative and quantitative methods, models and processes utilizing logic models, mathematics, statistics, engineering methods, economics principles, optimization, sensitivity analysis, deterministic and stochastic modeling and simulation, return on investment analysis, cost benefit analysis, risk analysis, heuristics, multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA), and other novel analytic methods. You will also apply your subject matter expertise to inform planning, strategy, resource allocation, and other staff processes.

You Have:
  • 10+ years of experience in a strategic or operational Headquarters developing and executing novel and innovative analytic and assessment processes in support of strategic campaigning, including campaign assessments and partner force assessments
  • 10+ years of experience supporting the DoD as an operations research systems analyst (ORSA) translating operational requirements to technical team and applications, while being able to translate technical solutions to operational teams and functions
  • Experience leading analytic teams in support of special operations campaigning, planning, and assessments
  • Experience conducting evidence-based, qualitative, and quantitative analysis informing campaigning, planning, and resourcing decisions, including campaign plan assessment and partner force analyses
  • Experience programming and using MS Office Suite and data science applications to analyze data and convey results
  • Knowledge of service or joint G/S/J5 functions, including strategy, planning, and assessments and G/S/J3 functions including current and future operations, global force management, and resource prioritization processes
  • Ability to translate analytical requirements and concepts to appropriate methodologies, frameworks, and workflows to identify and decompose objectives, determine resource investments, and identify outcomes of those investments in the context of objectives and priorities
  • Ability to author reports, present findings to the GO/FO level, conduct quality control of findings, integrate analysis results with other staff processes, and build an integrated network of stakeholders in support of analytic efforts affecting campaigning and resourcing processes
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree in Operations Research

Nice If You Have:
  • Knowledge of OIE/IW G/S/J5 functions, including strategy, planning, and assessments and OIE/IW G/S/J3 functions including current and future operations, global force management, and resource prioritization processes
  • Knowledge of Python, R-Studio, R-Markdown, R-Shiny, Tableau, PowerBI, VBA, Matlab, Git, and Simio
  • Ability to determine, locate, and synthesize large volumes of unstructured data
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work tasks and meet deadlines, deliver products on time and within budget, and to quality standards
  • Ability to take initiative and provide solution options for unique challenges

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
