Position Overview

Gentle Motion Psychotherapy Services is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally adept Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our compassionate team in a full-time capacity. This remote position offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact on the mental health of individuals from diverse backgrounds while working from the comfort of your home.

About the Organization

At Gentle Motion Psychotherapy Services, we are committed to delivering culturally sensitive outpatient mental health care to our diverse clientele. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, our practice embraces an inclusive approach, ensuring that services are tailored to meet the unique needs of ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive work environment that values diversity and encourages the growth of both our clients and staff.

Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance while maintaining high standards for patient care. Our outpatient office, located in Atlanta, serves as a base for our collaborative team, facilitating regular team meetings, cultural competency training sessions, and case conferences to enhance the performance and effectiveness of our therapists. Your typical work hours will be Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient scheduling requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, utilizing culturally responsive methodologies to capture the complexities of each patient’s experiences and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other modalities directly aligned with the patient’s individual needs and backgrounds.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, addressing various mental health concerns while promoting resilience, self-esteem, and well-being among patients.
  • Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and comprehensiveness in care delivery.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention strategies for patients experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring safety and stabilization.
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and community resources to foster empowerment and informed decision-making.
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation in strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to track patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Proactively participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance your cultural competence and therapeutic skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our diverse patient population includes individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, cultural identities, and marginalized groups such as the LGBTQ+ community. You will have the rewarding opportunity to develop and implement services that respect and honor the personal narratives and cultural contexts of every client.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment strategies, with a strong emphasis on cultural competence in services.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, essential for developing rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and the ability to maintain composure in challenging therapeutic situations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and the accompanying workflows to document patient interactions and therapeutic progress.
  • Commitment to adhering to ethical guidelines and maintaining confidentiality in the therapeutic setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a coordinated care model as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing therapy to multicultural populations.
  • Proficiency in integrating relevant cultural considerations into therapeutic practices.
  • Strong background in evidence-based practices, particularly within the context of remote service delivery.
  • Active involvement in community outreach programs or organizations supporting minority populations.
Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an attractive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health insurance with a generous coverage package.
  • Retirement savings plan featuring employer matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) allowance along with paid holidays.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage.
  • Support for continuing education and professional development, including training seminars and workshops.
  • Collaborative and inclusive workplace culture that encourages innovation and professional growth.
Career Growth Opportunities

We are committed to fostering your growth within our organization. Our structure provides clear pathways for advancement into leadership positions, allowing you to take on greater responsibilities while contributing to shaping the future of mental health services within our practice.

Why Join Our Team
