What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Monday–Friday RN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Monday–Friday RN, you need an active RN license, strong clinical assessment skills, and experience in telehealth or case management. Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, EHR systems, and secure communication tools is typically required. Outstanding time management, self-motivation, and excellent virtual communication are essential soft skills for success in a remote work environment. These abilities ensure that patient care remains effective, compliant, and responsive even when delivered outside of traditional healthcare settings.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Monday-Friday RNs, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Monday-Friday RNs often encounter challenges such as establishing effective communication with patients and colleagues without in-person interaction, managing time efficiently while balancing a potentially high caseload, and staying updated on evolving protocols remotely. To address these, it's important to leverage secure digital communication tools, set clear boundaries and schedules, and actively participate in virtual team meetings and training sessions. Building strong digital rapport with patients and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams ensures quality care and support.

Job description

The Role
Registered Dietitian
WellTheory is expanding our Registered Dietitian team. In this role, you'll partner with us to deliver our proprietary care program to members. This is a full-time remote role with benefits, working Monday - Friday 9a-5p PST.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) licensure through the Commission on Dietetic Registration or equivalent licensure in your state
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in dietetics, with demonstrated expertise in:
    • Disease management.
    • Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).
    • Health lifestyle behavior change.
  • Preferred experience for Registered Dietitians:
    • Working in functional nutrition clinics or telehealth settings.
    • Familiarity with functional lab testing and analysis.
    • Familiarity with the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) or anti-inflammatory diets.
    • Experience addressing hormonal imbalances and gut health.
    • Experience with Motivational Interviewing and facilitating behavior change to empower patients in achieving their health goals.
  • Preferred experience for Functional Registered Dietitians, in addition to above:
    • Proficiency in functional lab testing and analysis.
    • Strong clinical proficiency in supporting hormonal imbalance and gut health specific to autoimmune conditions
    • Experience in building effective protocols based on functional testing and nutrient needs.
  • Willingness to obtain licensure in multiple states (WellTheory will cover the cost)

Who We're Looking For
You'll thrive in this role if you:
  • Are passionate about reversing the autoimmune epidemic and helping people live healthier lives through functional nutrition
  • Have experience delivering care that goes beyond traditional approaches, focusing on whole-body health rather than food pyramid guidelines
  • Are curious, open to growth, and able to provide and receive feedback constructively
  • Are excited to work in an innovative startup environment with autonomy and creativity
  • Are someone with a passion for holistic health and willingness to embrace supplements, lab testing, and advanced care techniques
  • Familiarity with autoimmune conditions and ability to assess and recommend personalized interventions, including diets, supplements, and testing
  • Growth-oriented mindset, with a curiosity to learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving field

You might not enjoy working with us if you:
  • Like working in a more established, structured environment. You'll help build our company's culture, processes, and ways of working
  • Don't like working with ambiguity-since we're an early-stage startup, projects and priorities shift
  • Are looking for lots of guidance in your role-while our team members have a ton of expertise to share, we'll also be looking to you to take ownership and work autonomously
  • Like your work to be well-defined from the get-go. We'll be looking to you to bring your own experience and perspective to help us do the right things and flag if you think we should do things differently. You will have the opportunity to bring creativity and ownership to your projects
  • Prefer working only in person. We are a remote company and will have in-person events every year, but will not require employees to be in an office every day

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with members to assess health concerns and provide personalized care plans using a functional nutrition approach
  • Leverage functional lab testing to evaluate nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, and gut health, tailoring interventions to address root causes
  • Guide members in adopting sustainable, anti-inflammatory diets, addressing lifestyle factors like stress, sleep, and movement
  • Participate in specialized training to build expertise in functional nutrition and autoimmune protocols
  • Work cross-functionally to integrate WellTheory's care model into the broader healthcare system
