About the Role: As one of the nations largest and most trusted local moving companies, College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk & Moving is expanding into an exciting new long-distance military hauling division. We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join our Operations team and help lead daily dispatching activities across this growing service line. This role is critical in ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient coordination of crews, shipments, and resources while delivering an exceptional client experience.
What Youll Do:
Lead daily dispatch operations and ensure timely, efficient scheduling of crews and resources
Accept and manage shipments using load boards (military experience strongly preferred)
Review job requirements and assign crews based on class ratings, compliance needs, and operational capacity
Maintain ongoing communication with field Captains to support execution and service quality
Ensure all dispatch activity complies with FMCSA regulations and military rules and requirements
Manage dispatch schedules, routes, driver/vehicle assignments, and related operational processes
Analyze schedules and rates, identify gaps, and recommend adjustments or improvements
Monitor crew performance and help drive process improvements and training opportunities
Maintain strong relationships with crew members (H.U.N.K.S.), sales teams, and clients
Perform additional duties as needed to support smooth operations
What You Bring:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 5 years experience in dispatching household goods and/or military shipments
Strong experience using load boards and accepting shipments
Solid understanding of shipment documentation, class ratings, and required paperwork
Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to interpret operational, safety, and procedural documentation
Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with drivers and field teams
Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and operational documentation as needed
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
What success in this role looks like:
Crews are dispatched accurately and on time with minimal rework or missed appointments
Load board shipments are accepted and managed efficiently with full compliance
Strong communication is maintained with field teams, resulting in smooth day-to-day execution
Documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with FMCSA and military requirements
Issues are proactively identified and resolved before they impact service quality
Continuous improvements are recommended to strengthen efficiency and performance
Work Environment & Schedule
  • This is a fast-paced, operations-driven role requiring real-time decision-making
  • May require early morning, evening, or weekend coverage depending on shipment schedules
  • Requires strong ability to stay organized and calm under pressure during peak dispatch periods
