The Opportunity

As a dedicated Sourcing Procurement Manager Senior, you will lead complex sourcing and contracting initiatives across the organization, developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing competitive sourcing processes, evaluating supplier proposals, negotiating and executing agreements, and partnering with business stakeholders to support strategic objectives. You will primarily support the Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Solutions (CREWS) organization, with responsibility for categories including design and construction, facilities and maintenance operations, real estate portfolio management, workplace services, and other related business services. In this role, you will serve as a strategic procurement partner to CREWS leadership, driving sourcing and contract activities that support the organization's real estate and workplace operations.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week.

This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Conducts all phases in the development of complex and strategic acquisitions of third-party/affiliate solutions to include consulting on statements of work, creating requests for proposals, identification of qualified suppliers, proposal evaluations and negotiation of pricing, services, and contract terms.

  • Applies advanced knowledge in the design of complex and strategic sourcing plans and solutions to achieve client's strategy through deployment of third-party solutions.

  • Interprets the provisions and terms of all contract risks with a focus on complex and significant risk contracts that can hinder the Association's ability to execute on the mission, damage reputation, and/ or impair financial stability of the Enterprise such that capital strength or liquidity is impacted.

  • Collaborates with Legal and other subject matter experts as needed to interpret and ensure accuracy of contracts and resolve escalated issues.

  • Provides client consultation, on highly complex and critical actions, evaluates client requirements, dependencies and advises in the development of contract specifications to achieve pre-established savings, quality, and risk/cost avoidance targets.

  • Validates contract against established controls to drive regulatory compliance.

  • Influences business leaders on third-party utilization to achieve overall operational and strategic objectives.

  • Engages with internal stakeholders and suppliers ensuring value added, compliant, and consistent procurement experiences across assigned client group.

  • Applies extensive sourcing and procurement knowledge to execute the sourcing strategy and plan.

  • Provides guidance and oversight to less experienced sourcing and procurement staff to ensure category plans are executed.

  • Creates and evaluates commercial and pricing models, client demand and volume drivers, and creates negotiated alternatives for complex contract actions requiring intricate negotiation.

  • Utilizes significant background experience in Procurement Strategy and planning to develop complex sourcing strategies.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.

  • 6 years of experience in procurement strategy, to include planning, sourcing, and/or solutioning, to include 4 years of experience negotiating and authoring contracts, terms and conditions, and pricing.

  • Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end procurement strategies.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading sustainable strategic sourcing approaches.

  • Demonstrated Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership.

  • Knowledge of the strategic sourcing procurement lifecycle and procurement best practices and methods.

  • Knowledge applicable procurement policies, laws, and regulations.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams or projects.

  • Advanced experience leveraging analytical tools, including Microsoft Office products and other applicable business software, to develop analysis, charts, and/or supporting documentation.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770.00 - $179,240.00

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
