Job description

Our NYC based client is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead purchasing operations, supplier relationships, and strategic sourcing initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving procurement excellence, improving operational efficiency, and leveraging technology to support business growth.
The Procurement Manager will oversee a team of three and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize inventory planning, supplier performance, and procurement processes. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective and reliable procurement operations.
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate with vendors to maximize value and mitigate supply risks.
  • Utilize ERP and procurement technology platforms to manage workflows, reporting, and purchasing analytics.
  • Champion the adoption of new technology and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve performance, and reduce costs.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations teams to forecast purchasing needs and proactively address inventory challenges.
  • Develop and track KPIs related to purchasing, inventory management, supplier performance, and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
  • Prior experience leading and developing direct reports.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food distribution, fresh food, consumer goods, manufacturing, or related supply chain environments.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled business tools, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience leading system implementations, process improvements, or operational transformation projects.
Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
