Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Sage Intacct Consultant on a contract basis to review and optimize our recent Sage Intacct implementation. This role will assess the current system setup, identify opportunities to improve configuration, reporting, and workflows, and help ensure the environment is aligned with business needs and best practices. The consultant will partner closely with the Corporate Accounting and Client Finance teams and must be able to customize the system to support complex client reporting requirements. The ideal candidate combines deep Sage Intacct expertise with a practical, collaborative approach to solving business process challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review the current Sage Intacct configuration and assess whether the recent implementation aligns with business requirements, accounting needs, and best practices.
  • Identify and implement system improvements that optimize workflows, strengthen internal controls, and improve usability for finance and operational teams.
  • Design, build, and customize complex client reporting, dashboards, dimensions, and other reporting tools to support internal and external reporting needs.
  • Refine reporting structures, forecast reports, and budget templates to improve financial visibility, planning, and decision-making.
  • Evaluate integrations with third-party platforms, including CRM, relocation, and expense management systems, and recommend or implement adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, provide user support, and deliver guidance or training that improves adoption and effective system use.
  • Establish and promote best practices for month-end and year-end close, data quality, system governance, and ongoing administration.
  • Document findings, recommended changes, system configurations, and updated procedures to support continuity and long-term maintainability.
  • Provide strategic recommendations that improve the efficiency, scalability, and reporting capabilities of the Sage Intacct environment.

  • Engagement Type: Contract; hourly ($125+ per hour) or project-based.ย 
  • Location: Remote or hybrid, based on project needs.
  • Duration: Determined by the scope of review, recommendations, and system refinements.

  • An optimized Sage Intacct environment aligned with business requirements, accounting best practices, and reporting needs.
  • More efficient finance workflows with stronger support for budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting.
  • Customized reporting solutions that support complex client reporting and improve financial visibility across stakeholders. Client-level profitability reporting with visibility into margins, cost drivers, service offerings.
  • Documented recommendations, updated configurations, and refined processes that support continuity, scalability, and more efficient finance operations.


Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Sage Intacct review, optimization, administration, and post-implementation support.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial operations, and GAAP.
  • Experience assessing ERP configurations and recommending or implementing improvements based on business requirements and best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in custom report writing, dashboard development, and complex client reporting within Sage Intacct.
  • Experience with financial systems integrations, issue resolution, and process improvement across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Sage Intacct certification, such as Implementer or Administrator credentials.
  • Experience with Interactive Custom Report Writer and Sage Intacct Budgeting and Planning.
  • Experience building API integrations and supporting broader ERP migration initiatives.
  • Background in accounting, finance, or a related field; a CPA is a plus.
  • Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments and financial consolidations.
