The International Accounting Manager will oversee all US GAAP accounting activities for a recent Hims & Hers' international acquisition. This role will be integrated with the subsidiary accounting team based in Australia and will be charged with having a detailed understanding of all accounting entries, US GAAP consolidation, month-end close (including reconciliations) and assistance with US GAAP to local GAAP adjustments. This role will also be a key partner to the business when expanding into new international markets, assisting with researching/understanding reporting requirements. Reporting to the VP, International Controller, this role partners closely with FP&A, Tax, Consolidations, Global Revenue and Inventory Accounting, local accounting teams, and external advisors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across all international operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily, weekly, and monthly US GAAP accounting tasks for the foreign acquisition, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Own the month-end close process, including reviewing account reconciliations, posting adjusting journal entries, consolidating into the Hims & Hers' instance of NetSuite and completing assigned responsibilities as a reviewer in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review team work products with attention to detail, identifying and correcting errors while enhancing processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify intercompany transactions and eliminations across subsidiaries.
  • Where required, assist the Australian-based account team with preparation of statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting documentation, policies, and internal controls.
  • Own assigned Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act of 2002 key controls and ensure performance with no deficiencies.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members supporting both the US GAAP and local accounting.
  • Participate in due diligence and integration for new market launches and expansions.
  • Lead and advocate for process improvements and system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure timely, accurate delivery of requests and projects.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for relevant accounting matters, ensuring clear communication and issue escalation as needed.

Experience & Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting. Big-4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong US GAAP experience; exposure to IFRS or other non-US GAAP accounting standards is strongly preferred.
  • BA or BS degree in Accounting.
  • CPA or active progress toward CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • West Coast candidates are strongly preferred (for international calls).
  • Proven experience managing international entities and working across multiple currencies.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency (NetSuite experience a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Prior experience in a public company environment and with SOX compliance preferred.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in both remote and in-person settings.
  • Comfortable working across time zones for international calls (occasional early/late meetings) - West Coast location preferred for scheduling overlap.
