Lutheran Counseling Services, PC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our remote team, supporting the mental health needs of our elderly population in Tallahassee, Florida. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, alongside a comprehensive benefits package and an enticing sign-on bonus. Work Environment

The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, enabling consistent engagement with clients and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying individual care needs and formulating tailored treatment plans.
  • Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions to assist seniors in navigating emotional challenges, including grief, anxiety, and adjustment issues related to aging.
  • Collaborate proactively with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals to design comprehensive care plans that holistically address the psychological and emotional needs of geriatric residents.
  • Educate caregivers and family members on strategies that enhance the quality of life and emotional well-being of elderly patients, fostering an empathetic support system.
  • Facilitate grief counseling for residents and their families experiencing loss and end-of-life transitions, providing compassionate support during critical times.
  • Implement cognitive stimulation and therapeutic interventions that promote mental acuity, encouraging continuous engagement in stimulating activities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be on the geriatric population, which includes elderly individuals coping with loss, life transitions, and age-related mental health conditions. Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • A minimum of 4 years of post-licensure experience specifically in geriatric mental health counseling.
  • Proven ability to deliver culturally competent mental health services, demonstrating understanding in working with diverse populations.
  • Strong analytical skills to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop effective treatment interventions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong rapport with elderly clients and their families.
  • Familiarity with ethical and legal standards in geriatric mental health care.
Preferred Experience
