Reports to: Director, Leasing
Compensation: $24/hour, plus performance-based commission
Location: Remote, Non-exempt
About Darwin Homes
At Darwin Homes, we fundamentally believe that the rental experience is broken. Too often, property management-serving as the middleman between investors and residents-often means shoddy service, hidden fees, and inefficient processes that shortchange everybody involved. Darwin was built to make residents' and owners' lives easier through an innovative ecosystem of technologies. We have created the best product in the market for residents to discover, tour, and lease their future home; and for owners to have complete peace of mind from our modern management and leasing services built around our core values of transparency and professionalism. Darwin Homes is the destination for single-family rental services for property owners and residents.
The Team
The Darwin Homes team is composed of a diverse set of alumni from DoorDash, Square, Facebook, Apple, LinkedIn, and other top technology companies. The founders and executive team have over 30+ years of combined experience in scaling disruptive technology and operations-focused businesses. Darwin Homes was backed by top Silicon Valley venture capital (Khosla, Fifth Wall) and was acquired by Pagaya Technologies, a publicly traded company, in early 2023. Pagaya is an AI/ML data technology company with offices in Tel Aviv, New York, and Austin.
The Role
As a Senior Associate, Leasing, you will be a key member of our growing team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the leasing process for Darwin Homes' inventory, ensuring an exceptional experience for prospective tenants and leading efforts to drive occupancy. Your responsibilities will span the full lifecycle of leasing, from initial inquiry to lease signing, and you will be a leader in driving performance across the leasing team.
This role is ideal for someone with extensive leasing experience, a strong sales background, and a passion for delivering high-quality service to both prospective tenants and property owners, and fostering the responsibilities of a senior associate.
Duties:
  • Collaborate closely with the Director and leasing team to drive the full leasing lifecycle.
  • Champion leasing excellence by applying strategic expertise, guiding confident decision making, and fostering urgency to optimize team performance and conversion outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve conversion, speed, and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Guide junior leasing agents by offering mentorship, sharing best practices, and providing support as needed to elevate the entire team's performance.
  • Resolve Complex Situations: Handle difficult leasing situations with tact and professionalism, maintaining positive relationships with all prospects and residents.
  • Manage Lead Pipeline: Effectively manage leads and lease opportunities, utilizing CRM tools to track, nurture, and close deals.
  • Reporting and Data Management: Maintain accurate records of leasing activity and contribute to data driven decisions to improve performance.
  • Other Duties: Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as needed to contribute to the success of the leasing team. Collaborate closely with the Director, on exception/audit reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements
  • An active Real Estate License
  • Proven Success: A track record of success in a high performance leasing environment, with at least 3-5 years of experience in leasing or sales, ideally in single family or multi-family rental markets.
  • Leadership Abilities: Experience leading teams or mentoring peers to achieve team goals and drive performance.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written) to effectively engage with prospective tenants and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Sales Expertise: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a sales-driven environment, consistently meeting or exceeding leasing goals.
  • Dynamic & Growth-Oriented: Ability to excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Preferred in Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
