Job description

About the Role:

We are hiring for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) based in the United States to support our seasoned closers for new logos within the North America Civil Government market. You will work closely with seasoned Account Executives to build a closable pipeline and expand notable accounts.

This role has multiple career paths and the training to be a future sales, customer success or operations professional. As a foundational member of a high growth business unit, you will have the opportunity to contribute to strategy, account planning, and relationship development for a world class sales organization. 

This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Impact You'll Own:

  • Own a territory that you will nurture and develop high quality accounts and leads for your Account Executives, contributing directly to the topline level growth of Planet. You are hunting for civil government accounts that mirror our ideal client profile and buying table.
  • Collaborate with your dedicated Account Executive and field marketer to drive a world-class engagement experience with strategic sequences, impactful messaging and multi-threading. 
  • Understand the Planet product ecosystem and key verticals to provide a high level introduction and seamless hand-off to the Account Executive.
  • Utilize business and industry knowledge to research accounts (i.e. ZoomInfo, 10K, industry publications), identify key stakeholders, generate interest, create/identify compelling events, and develop account plans.

What You Bring:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience, working within the civil government or adjacent markets 
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Coachable with a deep interest in learning the business and achieve monthly targets
  • Experience prospecting a SaaS product or service within large government accounts 
  • Ability to learn complex topics and weave great stories into effective messaging and business outcomes for targeted campaigns
  • Ability to be personable, build rapport and exercise discretion while working with confidential information
  • Excellent written communication, phone, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be a proactive, independent thinker with high energy/positive attitude

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Domain expertise in GEOINT, satellite imaging, or remote imaging. Previous vertical experience in state and local governments or universities
  • Understanding and experience with MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, Challenger and/or Science of Sales Development methodologies
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Groove, Gong and email automation tools

The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.
