Job description

Job Title: JDE CNC Administrator
Location: Remote
Contract
Position Summary:
The JDE CNC Administrator manages the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 environment. This role focuses on system administration, architecture, and maintenance. The backend infrastructure relies entirely on IBM iSeries (AS/400) servers. This position is also responsible for gathering business requirements and interpreting to the engineers, understanding operation and maintenance of Information Technology computer systems and JDE ERP HR software applications. The Analyst uses technical knowledge to define strategic direction within the specific discipline and to solve complex business problems, by means of a systematic and disciplined approach. This position employs software, hardware, and/or communication technologies to accomplish assignments.
Core Responsibilities
  • Environment Management: Maintain JDE 8.12 environments including DV, PY, and PD.
  • AS/400 Administration: Manage DB2 databases, IBM i user profiles, and subsystem jobs.
  • Package Management: Assemble, build, and deploy server and client packages regularly.
  • Object Management: Configure OMW rules, tokens, and project promotions through development cycles.
  • Security Administration: Setup JDE security workbench, row/column security, and user profiles.
  • System Troubleshooting: Analyze JDE kernels, AS/400 job logs, and print queues to resolve failures.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize iSeries interactive/batch jobs and JDE ini file configurations.
  • Web Server Care: Administer WebSphere Application Servers (WAS) hosting JDE HTML servers.
  • Backup & Recovery: Coordinate JDE specs, business data, and AS/400 library backups (SAVLIB).
  • Defines interdependency with other disciplines and is involved in the testing and certification processes.
  • Supports, operates and maintains computer systems and software applications.
  • Interprets, refines and applies methods and procedures in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Information Technology industry standards and best practices as defined by Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd.
  • Remains current with industry trends in order to conceive, prototype and recommend technical approaches for IT systems and solutions that meet business needs.

Required Technical Skills
  • JDE Version: Deep expertise in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 architecture.

  • Database: Strong knowledge of DB2 for iSeries, SQL, and data replication tools.
  • Middleware: Hands-on experience with WebSphere Application Server 6.0/6.1.
  • Tools: Expert level with OMW, Change Management, and Server Manager.
