What is a remote implementation?

A Remote Implementation job involves deploying, configuring, and integrating software, systems, or services for clients without being physically on-site. Professionals in this role communicate with customers to understand requirements, guide them through setup, and ensure smooth adoption of the product. They often collaborate with technical and customer support teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance. Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical skills are key to success in this role.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote implementation roles?

One common challenge in Remote Implementation is managing client expectations and ensuring seamless communication across different time zones and virtual platforms. Because you are not onsite, building trust and understanding client requirements thoroughly through video calls and digital collaboration can require extra attention to detail. Additionally, troubleshooting technical issues remotely often means coordinating with both internal technical teams and client stakeholders to resolve problems efficiently. However, these challenges can be rewarding for professionals who are proactive, adaptable, and enjoy working in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote implementation position, and why are they important?

To excel in a Remote Implementation role, you need strong project management, technical troubleshooting, and customer onboarding skills, often supported by experience in software deployment or IT solutions. Familiarity with CRM systems, project management tools like Asana or Jira, and relevant certifications such as PMP or ITIL are commonly expected. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation are standout qualities in this position. These skills ensure successful client implementations, smooth remote collaboration, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Attain Partners is seeking a Senior Collibra Consultant to lead client-facing Collibra implementation work across data governance, metadata management, data catalog, business glossary, workflow, and stewardship use cases. This role will be responsible for facilitating discovery and design workshops, translating client requirements into scalable Collibra solution designs, configuring and developing platform capabilities, and coaching client stakeholders so they can successfully adopt and sustain the solution. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and highly consultative, with the ability to communicate clearly with business users, data stewards, governance leaders, technical teams, and executives. This role requires strong soft skills, client presence, documentation discipline, and the ability to teach clients while also leading hands-on Collibra development.

Required Skills
  • Hands-on experience architecting and developing solutions within the Collibra platform.
  • Ability to lead client workshops for requirements gathering, current-state assessment, future-state design, operating model definition, and implementation planning.
  • Strong understanding of Collibra capabilities, including data catalog, business glossary, communities, domains, assets, responsibilities, workflows, policies, lineage, metadata management, and stewardship processes.
  • Experience translating business governance requirements into Collibra configuration, data models, workflows, roles, permissions, and implementation plans.
  • Ability to lead hands-on Collibra development, including configuration, workflow design, metadata model setup, stewardship processes, integrations, testing, and deployment support.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to teach and coach client teams on Collibra functionality, governance best practices, stewardship responsibilities, and platform sustainment.
  • Strong consulting skills, including active listening, stakeholder management, expectation setting, issue resolution, and executive-ready communication.
  • Experience creating clear documentation, including workshop notes, requirements, solution designs, process flows, configuration guides, training materials, and adoption playbooks.
  • Ability to work independently while also leading client teams, offshore developers, business SMEs, data stewards, and governance stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including data ownership, stewardship, business glossary management, data quality, metadata, lineage, issue management, and governance operating models.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with Collibra workflow development, APIs, integrations, ingestion, lineage, Edge, or Data Quality & Observability
  • Experience designing reusable Collibra templates, accelerators, playbooks, and implementation standards
  • Experience supporting data governance maturity assessments, roadmap development, and governance operating model design
  • Experience working with higher education, nonprofit, healthcare, public sector, financial services, or other complex data environments
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and enterprise data ecosystems such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Salesforce, Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Tableau, Power BI, MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica
  • Experience supporting change management, stakeholder adoption, communications, training, and governance rollout. Ability to support pre-sales efforts, including solution shaping, level-of-effort estimates, proposals, demos, and client presentations.
  • Experience mentoring junior consultants or client team members in Collibra development and governance best practices.
Years of Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in data governance, data management, metadata management, data architecture, analytics, or enterprise data consulting.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Collibra implementation, architecture, or development experience.
Certifications

Collibra Solution Architect Certification
